WCW Monday Night Nitro - Monday, January 8th, 1996
- Tonight we continue the ever-fun storyline between the Horsemen and Giant trying to destroy Hulkamania!
- We are live from Charleston, South Carolina for one hour of WCW Nitro!
- Eric Bischoff quickly hypes up the situation I just stated above.
- Anderson/Flair battle Hogan/Savage.
- Mongo does the same thing, but is looking in the wrong camera.
- Heenan also hypes up the main event.
- Chris Benoit w/ Brian Pillman Vs Alex Wright
- Benoit quickly gaines the advantage with stomps and a running clothesline. Snap suplex by Benoit.
- Back elbow take down by Benoit. Scoop slam by Benoit.
- Wright comes back with right hands but Benoit knocks him down anyway.
- Fisherman suplex into a bridge for a two count.
- Wright is sent to the floor. Pillman comes on over and chokes Wright with his shirt.
- Wright and Benoit trade rights back in the ring but Benoit gains the advantage.
- A few vicious chops by Benoit in the corner. Wright flips off the turnbuckles and eventually connects with a spinning heel kick.
- Cross body off the top by Wright... 2 count.
- Wright sends Benoit over the top to the floor.
- Baseball slide into Benoit sending him into the railing. Wright with a cross body onto the floor.
- Uppercuts by Wright, a terrible dropkick by Wright.
- Scoop slam by Wright and he gets a 2 count.
- Bischoff rips WWF again for raising prices for their PPVs.
- Boston crab by Wright and Benoit is doing a nice job of selling.
- STF by Wright and Benoit still will not give up.
- Wright with a back elbow. Snap suplex by Wright and he gets a 2 count.
- Wright decides to dive onto Pillman and Wright begins to hammer away on Pillman.
- Benoit regains control. Wright misses a splash off the top rope. Benoit got his knees up.
- Many reverses by both men looking for suplexes. Benoit with a back elbow.
- Benoit hooks Wright and connects with a full nelson suplex... 1-2-3.
- Your Winner: Chris Benoit via pinfall with a full nelson suplex.
- Afterwards, Pillman spits on Wright.
- Replay of Benoit winning.

- Lord Steven Regal w/ Jeeves Vs Eddie Guerrero
- Guerrero wrenches on the arm of Regal. Regal gets to the ropes.
- Guerrero regains control and places Regal into a hammerlock. Near fall by Guerrero.
- Regal wrenches on the arm of Guerrero. Guerrero flips up and wrenches back onto Regal.
- Regal flips Guerrero over using his legs.
- Eric calls the "Royal Rumble" the "Royal Fumble".
- Regal places Guerrero into a headlock on the mat. Regal continues to wrench on the arm of Guerrero.
- Guerrero comes back with a knee, but Regal delivers left hands. Running knee strike to the gut by Regal.
- Guerrero reverses a double under hook power bomb into an arm drag.
- Head scissors take down by Guerrero. Dropkick by Guerrero.
- Regal trips Guerrero up for a cover... 2 count.
- Regal with a poke to the eye and he clubs Guerrero on the back.
- Clubbing blows to the back by Guerrero and he places Regal into a nice cover... 2 count.
- Regal comes back with a right hook. A few knees and uppercuts by Regal.
- Nice leaping reverse vertical suplex for a 2 count.
- More clubbing blows by Regal. They trade right hands. Multiple reverse pin attempts.
- Regal continues to get several 2 counts.
- Guerrero again comes back with right hands. But Regal uppercuts him to take control.
- Dropkick by Guerrero. Uppercut again by Regal. Back elbow by Regal.
- More right hands by Regal. Guerrero reverses an uppercut into a backslide... 1-2-3.
- Your Winner: Eddie Guerrero via pinfall with a backslide.

- We come back with Gene standing with Lex Luger and Sting for the mandatory drama interview between friends.
- Luger says they should be talking backstage with Sting.
- Sting has a big question for Luger. Luger defends his reasoning at Starrcade 1995.
- Luger says that he was injured and wanted Sting to help him up.
- Sting says that he and Luger would be a pretty damn good tag team.
- Looks like we have a new Tag Team.
- Sting will be in action against Diamond Dallas Page!

- On Saturday Night, Savage will go for the World Title against Ric Flair!

- Mongo might have ruined the ending by stating "It's not a good way to start 1996 when you lose to Sting."... Heenan tries to cover up the error.
- DDP rubs the cigar into the eyes of Sting and delivers elbows in the corner.
- Sting dropkicks DDP through the ropes to the floor.
- Cross body over the top by Sting. They go back into the ring.
- DDP blocks a leapfrog by Sting by hitting him in the groin.
- Right forearms by DDP. Sting sent to the corner and DDP connects with a back suplex.
- Swinging neck breaker by DDP and he gets a 2 count.
- DDP goes back to a headlock. DDP uses the ropes for leverage. Sting comes back though.
- DDP drops back down and keeps the headlock on.
- Sting fights back with elbows to the gut and connects with a running bulldog.
- Repeated right hands by Sting. Atomic drop by Sting and he takes DDP down with a dropkick.
- Stinger Splash in the corner and he leg sweeps DDP down.
- Sting tries for the Scorpion Death Lock but Page gets to the ropes and drops Sting throat first over the top rope.
- Swinging neck breaker by Page. Sting with a rollup... 2 count. Page pokes Sting in the eyes.
- Back elbow by Page in the corner and he gets another 2 count.
- Sting reverses a back suplex and places DDP into the Scorpion Death Lock... Page has no choice but to tap out.
- Your Winner: Sting via submission.
- Replay of Sting's victory.
- Main Event is up next... Savage/Hogan battle Anderson/Flair!

- Ric Flair/Arn Anderson Vs Hulk Hogan/Randy Savage
- Hogan is getting a decent amount of boos.
- Flair and Hogan start things off. Shoulder block by Hogan.
- Side headlock into a hammer lock by Flair.. Hogan reverses, Flair with a front face lock. Hogan with a hammerlock.
- Hogan overpowers Flair when they get up. Flair with chops in the corner.. Hogan no-sells of course.
- Poke to the eyes by Flair... Hogan with a big boot. Running clothesline on Flair and Anderson. Two scoop slams take the Horsemen to the floor.
- Anderson gets the tag into the ring. Anderson and Hogan trade wrenching the arm.
- Savage goes to the top and leaps onto Anderson's arm.
- Savage wrenches on the arm and places Anderson into an arm bar.
- Anderson backs Savage into the ropes and tries to suplex Savage to the floor but Savage blocks and sends Anderson into a big boot from Hogan on the apron.
- Anderson is on the floor. Savage with a top rope double axe handle to the floor.
- Savage with a double axe handle in the ring... 2 count.
- Hogan chases after Flair in the ring. Flair gets the tag and chops away on Savage.
- Flair with a back elbow. Flair goes up top but Savage catches Flair and slams him off.
- Savage places Flair into the Figure Four, Hogan places Anderson into the Figure Four.
- Anderson with a nice DDT onto Savage... 2 count.
- Flair sends Savage over the top to the floor. Anderson sends Savage into the railing.
- Commercials.
- We come back and Anderson has Savage in an abdominal stretch. Anderson places Savage into a full nelson and tags in Flair who continues to work away on Savage.
- Chops in the corner and Savage is hurting. Savage is sent hard into the corner.
- Back suplex by Flair and he gets a 2 count when Hogan breaks up the count.
- Savage places Anderson into a sleeper but is backed into the wrong corner and Flair gouges his eyes.
- Anderson chokes Savage, and Savage falls to the floor. Flair sends Savage back first into the guard railing.
- Back in the ring Flair continues to work on the ribs of Savage. Backslide by Savage but he gets a two count only.
- Savage reverses the Figure Four and gets a two count.
- Savage with right hands, Flair with a vicious chop that takes Savage down. Anderson gets the tag and works on the back of Savage.
- Anderson clubs Savage on the back and Savage holds onto the ropes blocking a DDT.
- Flair knees Savage in the back and Savage manages to make the tag to Hogan.
- Hogan no sells a chop and delivers right hands on Flair. Back drop and a few clotheslines.
- Flair manages to clothesline Hogan on the back, but Hogan clotheslines both men over the top to the floor.
- Anderson is sent back into the ring... Anderson with the spine buster... Hogan no sells.
- Right hands by Hogan, big boot, and the leg drop... 1-2-3.
- Giant has came down to the ring and choke slams Hogan and Savage!
- Zodiac is back out here again and tells Giant to stop hurting by continuing to say "Friend".
- Your Winners: Hulk Hogan/Randy Savage via pinfall following Hogan's Leg Drop Of Doom on Anderson.
- The Good: Benoit/Wright was good.
- The Bad: Regal/Guerrero was disappointing. Main Event was really the same thing for the third or fourth week in a row.
- The Ugly: Mongo's commentary... Spoiling a result on your own show is unacceptable. Eric also needs to stop spoiling WWF results. He should be able to beat the competition without having to ruin their show in the process.
