WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, January 27th, 1996
- Coming off the biggest show thus far for WCW, Hulkamania is reeling.
- Flair and The Giant actually managed to somewhat stop Hogan and Savage at COTC 32.
- Will we find out anything tonight on Saturday Night? Most likely not, since they will save that for Nitro.
- Let's get ready for some jobber matches to put over people that the crowd don't even care for, e.g. Kevin Sullivan.
- This really should be changed to Kevin Sullivan night, WCW pushes him as unbeatable, but he never wins against top face talent.
- Will the seemingly talented tag team of Men At Work be noticed and pushed? Or will they get squashed and end the momentum?
- Will Scott Norton find opponents to face?
- Will the Blue Bloods actually earn a title shot and beat tag teams?
- Will Arn Anderson make my night by wrestling, and being in a meaningful storyline?
- Will Meng, an unbeatable force, be able to beat people who do not have the last name of "Armstrong"?
- Will Harlem Heat be pushed as singles stars?
- What happened to the wedding on COTC?
- Will Zodiac turn on the Dungeon Of Doom? Does anyone care?
- Will Luger turn heel on Sting, and stay heel, or flip flop every week?
- When will Mongo, who has been hyped by everyone, debut in the ring? It can't be worse then his commentating.
- Will Savage finally beat Luger? Will Hogan win the World Title?
- That was for people who might not know what is going on... I believe I covered everything.
- I will do that on occasion, for you, and for me.
- Enough of that, lets start the show, OK?
- The cool WCW Saturday video package opens the show.
- The un-cool footage that is two weeks old, is shown.
- Which doesn't show anything of Flair and Giant winning. Instead we see Savage, Luger and Sting all winning titles.
- Pathetic.
- The even more un-cool Tony Schiavone and Dusty Rhodes greet us and hype up all the title changes.
- Whoa, Tony actually hypes up the pay per view, Super Brawl VI, coming up in I believe two weeks.
- Better late than never.
- Diamond Dallas Page Vs Steve Armstrong
- DDP wants a TV title shot, so by facing Steve Armstrong, he will move up the ranks... Note the sarcasm there.
- DDP with a quick hip toss take down. Armstrong reverses a vertical suplex into a pin attempt... 2 count.
- Arm drag by Scott, but DDP comes back with a European uppercut.
- Scott sent chest first into the corner, back suplex by DDP.
- Scott ducks a clothesline and he connects with a back suplex.
- Scott goes to the top rope and connects with a cross body... 2 count.
- DDP sent into the ropes and he connects with a sloppy jumping DDT.
- DDP pulls Scott up and connects with the Diamond Cutter... 1-2-3.
- Your Winner: Diamond Dallas Page via pinfall
- Page still wants to face Johnny B. Badd.
- We go to Gene, and DDP comes on over.
- DDP compares the feud between him and Badd, to Hogan/Flair.
- Yeah, right.
- Page believes Badd is dodging him, Page is going to put all his money on the line.
- Which is according to him, is thirteen million dollars.
- Page wants Badd that badly.
- Appears that Lord Steven Regal is in action... Coming up next!
- Commercials.
- Highlights of Clash of the Champions.
- Lord Steven Regal w/ Sir William(?) Vs Dusty Wolf

- All of a sudden, someone pulls him out and begins to deliver right hands.
- Not a fan, since no one is grabbing him.
- Regal is being manhandled.
- "Northern Ireland" is on his jacket.
- He says he is "Fit Finlay, Belfast Bruiser".

- Luger/Sting defend the Tag Titles against Harlem Heat.
- Appears to be a decent card, for three matches.
- Commercials.
- For the WCW Television Title: (champ) Johnny B. Badd w/Diamond Doll Vs Meng
- Doll randomly does splits and whatnot in the ring, people don't really bother with her and rather want the frisbee that Badd is throwing out.
- Pretty long ring entrance, perhaps a short match?
- What a second... His opponent... MENG!.. Yes!
- This should be good... we'll see Meng dominate, then lose after something ridiculous.
- Badd with a side headlock like all matches start off with. Badd tries for a shoulder block, no effect, little effect on a clothesline.
- Big clothesline takes Meng down! Meng rolls to the floor.
- Badd with the "Badd Mood" to the floor (somersault splash).
- Meng sends Badd into the ring post.
- Back in the ring Meng clubs away on Badd. Meng stomps on the head of Badd.
- Meng with a double chop to the back, and a running clothesline off the ropes.
- Meng with a shoulder breaker. Snap mare and Meng chops the neck of Badd.

- Badd with a double axe handle off the top rope.
- Knee lift by Badd, mean left hook by Badd... 2 count
- DDP has joined the area. DDP is on the apron. Badd sends Meng into Page, who flips into the ring, Badd covers Page... 1-2-3!
- What the hell?
- Your Winner: And still WCW Television Champion Johnny B. Badd.
- That may have worked, if Badd was actually facing Page.
- That was really ridiculous, at least Meng wasn't buried in this match, but that was a bad way to end the match.
- That killed Page's credibility for sure in a possible match against Badd.
- We go to Gene who is now joined by Badd and Diamond Doll.
- Badd says it's obvious that Page is obsessed with Badd, Doll and the TV Title.
- Badd says Page can't buy a title shot.
- I'd sure take the match for that type of money.
- Badd wants Page to earn his shot.
- He just beat Steve Armstrong, what else does he have to do?!
- Again, sarcasm.

- Commercials.
- We come back to see footage, for what...the fifth time, of Luger and Sting winning the Tag Team titles.

- Sting basically says it's OK to cheat.... Way to tell the kids, Stinger!
- Sting again says they will "fight fire with fire"... How creative.
- Back to the ring we go.

- This is because Austin is now getting a push in WWF.
- Commercials
- Joey Maggs w/ Teddy Long Vs VK Wall Street
- Tony mentions this is a featured bout? A match with Maggs isn't why people show up.
- Especially when he is facing Disco Inferno.
- I guess it was supposed to be VK Wall Street but Inferno has taken VK's spot.
- Well, VK's music hits and out comes VK! Confusion.
- I guess Disco was just wanting to dance?
