WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, March 16th, 1996
- Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending when you are reading this. Figured I'd be proper, for once.
- A couple of things I have been wondering about. Most of them are random.
- At work today I was thinking about WCW, and there is a tag team that I cannot get out of my mind.
- That team, the American Males, Scotty Riggs and Marcus Bagwell.
- Now, it's not that I like the tag team, because I don't. Mainly because I believe WCW has everything backwards.
- My understanding of the tag team is that they are American boys who are supposed to be seen as good looking and appeal to mainly a female driven audience.
- How would that possibly make them a successful baby face tag team? It doesn't.
- I would think they would be far better being a heel tag team. Thinking they are better than everyone. I could see that working.
- Not to mention, the possibility of feuds or storylines they could have.
- Number one, they could have a long lasting feud with Public Enemy. PE are two overweight hardcore wrestlers. They face the tag team like I explained earlier, you have a solid feud. Plus, seeing American Males get driven through tables or whacked over the head with chairs for ten minutes is something anyone would want to see.
- Talk about a blood feud.
- Then you could have them face Harlem Heat, Road Warriors and whomever else.
- Speaking of tag teams...The Steiner Brothers are back in WCW, adding even more credibility to the tag team division.
- Most likely a Steiner and Road Warriors feud will be occurring over the next few weeks, to see just who the best tag team is in the business today.
- Johnny B. Badd appears to be done with WCW. Announcer, Eric Bischoff did something I'd never heard before, basically ripping Johnny a new one by saying "He can't handle with the big boys."
- And lastly before I get to Saturday Night recap, check out http://colling1989.proboards41.com/v45index.cgi? for WWF recaps and ECW recaps.

- Alright, here we go, time for some WCW!
- Footage from WCW Nitro is shown. The brawl between the Giant and Loch Ness appears to be the main focus.
- Tony and Dusty welcome everyone to the show tonight.
- Hogan and Savage will actually be on Saturday Night, wrestling. They will be in the main event.
- Men At Work (Mark Starr/Chris Kanyon) Vs Road Warriors
- Men at Work are finally back on Saturday Night. These guys were seemingly headed for a push, maybe it will continue. They do have some nice music.
- Well, once I realized they are facing the Road Warriors, that answers the above question.
- This match doesn't even happen, because the STEINER BROTHERS come down and brawl with the Road Warriors.
- Scott Steiner is really jacked up. Nice little brawl though.
- Your Winner: No Contest
- Highlights of what just happened.
- Gene is now of course able to get the Steiner Brothers for a interview.
- Scott Steiner says he is "coming after a Road Warrior" at least four different times.
- That was a rather poor interview.
- Road Warriors apparently are facing the Nasty Boys on Nitro, as they cut a brief promo about them

- Commercials
- Disco Inferno Vs Brad Armstrong
- Disco has a new CD of himself, along with a few diamond rings spelling "Disco".
- Wouldn't it be awesome if Armstrong won? I mean, if Pat Tanaka can be booked to beat Disco, why not Armstrong?
- Brad with a nice looking dropkick on Disco early on. Disco worries about his hair.
- Disco manages to come back with a running face buster onto Brad. Disco continues the offense with intimidating dance moves.
- Brad almost wins with two back slides. Brad goes for a THIRD backslide, still a near fall.
- Holy smokes. Brad with a Russian leg sweep, and picks up the 1-2-3.
- Your Winner: Brad Armstrong via pinfall

- Hogan reveals a contract saying that Savage is in the Doomsday match, because it says "Mega Powers".
- Savage says that "This Uncensored will make the other Uncensored look censored.
- The Gambler/Pat Tanaka/Cobra Vs Arn Anderson/Kevin Sullivan/Lex Luger
- Lex Luger isn't with his scheduled partners. Well, at least not at first.
- Luger comes down and attacks Cobra, knocking him out cold.
- Tony with another cheap shot on Johnny B. Badd taking the "low road" since losing to Luger.
- Luger soon walks out on his partners after attacking Cobra.
- The Gambler could win a Arn Anderson look-a-like competition. Random, but just noticed it while they were wrestling.
- Basically, this is a squash, with six people scheduled, but really only three.
- Cobra is still knocked out, Tanaka disappeared and Luger walked out.
- Spine buster and double stomp on Gambler and it's over.
- Your Winners: Arn Anderson/Kevin Sullivan and Lex Luger

- "Diamond" Dallas Page Vs Dave Sullivan
- Dave Sullivan still has a job? Wow.
- Dave with the offense early on with a clothesline, and a brief bear hug.
- That of course doesn't last long, as Page connects with the Diamond Cutter.
- The crowd was absolutely dead.
- Your Winner: Diamond Dallas Page via pinfall
- Replay of such a great match. Huge amount of sarcasm there.
- Lee Marshall is with Diamond Dallas Page. Page quickly takes a jab at Johnny B. Badd.
- Marshall says there is a new match, but Page will not allow him to announce it.
- Page is cutting a promo as if he is still facing Badd at Uncensored. Badd isn't with WCW anymore.
- Page now mocks Badd for "hitting the road". Referring to bailing out of WCW.
- Page believes that Kimberly is in love with him again.
- Lee Marshall announces that BM has been signed by Kimberly to face Page at Uncensored.
- Lex Luger with a quick promo on Loch Ness
- Commercials
- Tony and Dusty talk about what happened on the last edition of Nitro.
- Highlights from Nitro.
- This Monday, Luger/Ness, Road Warriors/Nasty Boys, BM/Arn Anderson, Hogan and Savage/Flair and Sullivan.
- "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan Vs The Giant
- This is a return match from WCW Nitro, that will most likely be the same result.
- Well, near the end of the match, Duggan has a taped fist and Ness pulls down the top rope dropping Giant over to the floor.
- Giant and Ness brawl to the backstage area, Giant loses.
- Good thing it wasn't by pinfall.
- Your Winner: Jim Duggan via count out.

- Grissom managed to get to 4th place, which is fairly impressive.
- Currently he is in 3rd place in overall standings
- Kurasawa "K" Vs Sting
- "Thunderous roar of excitement" said by Dusty regarding Sting's entrance. It was more of the screeching of pre-teen girls going nuts.
- Dusty also decides to say it's sold out; however, you can clearly see empty seats.
- K with the control early on, mainly with a ridiculously long nerve hold.
- Sting with a clothesline, Stinger Splash, the Scorpion Death Lock...let the ladies go crazy.
- Your Winner: Sting via submission
- Replay of the victory
- Gene is now standing with Sting and he needs answer to the ever growing drama of Sting's life.

- Sting says that Luger didn't ditch him.
- Booker T comes into the locker room, Booker offers to team up with Sting. Booker just wants to get a title shot after. Sting agrees.
- As for the main event, the match is fairly slow workrate wise.
- All four men are just brawling in and outside of the ring.
- Wow, ten seconds after coming back from commercial break, Hogan is disqualified for choking Shark with his shirt.
- They brawl, and the show ends.
- Your Winners: Shark and Barbarian via disqualification
- The Good: Brawling between Steiners/ Road Warriors. Booker T being Sting's tag team partner. Brad Armstrong winning.
- The Bad: Hogan/Savage not even having a real match. What was the point of having them on the show for fifty-five seconds?
- The Ugly: Sting trying to act "ghetto" tough. It just didn't work.
