WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, May 18th, 1996
- WCW Slamboree is one day away.
- So, for Saturday Night, the recap will be pretty brief. Considering none of the matches, other than Sting/Meng, appear to be competitive or interesting.

- WCW Saturday Night Opening Video
- Footage from Nitro and Luger/Giant match.
- The footage is cut of right before the choke slam spot through the table.
- Tony and Dusty welcome everyone to WCW Saturday Night.
- Dusty says the choke slam through the table was uncalled for.
- Tony says that Luger was supposed to compete tonight, but he is injured.
- Tony also announces that Dean Malenko has won the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship.
- That is wonderful news.
- Sting Vs Meng w/Barbarian
- This normally would have been the main event, you would think.
- Well, about two minutes in, Barbarian comes into get involved, but kicks Meng.
- Sting clotheslines Barbarian over the top and pins Meng.
- Your Winner: Sting via pinfall
- Sting issues an apology to Lex Luger for what happened on Nitro.
- Lex Luger, who is too injured to compete, shows up.
- Luger says that tomorrow night will be Sting's moment.
- Luger says he knows Sting will win the WCW World Title.
- Sting now knows he should have not questioned Luger.
- He has been saying that since December of 1995.
- Sting admits he has fear of The Giant. He can channel that into aggression.
- Sting will lock the Scorpion death lock, just like he did two week ago.

- A whole lot of choke slams are shown during the video.
- Jushin Liger Vs Steve Doll
- Doll is actually getting some decent amount of offense in for a jobber.
- Sonny Ono comes down to ringside.
- Wheelbarrow kick by Liger in the corner.
- Top rope superplex by Liger. Liger goes up top and connects with a big splash to pick up the win.

- Video of Sting beating up Cactus Jack, or Mankind of the WWF. The weekly shot at WWF continues.
- Another "Blood Runs Cold" promo video is shown.

- Gene plugs his hotline. Gene says that someone could be leaving a promotion and making a special appearance at Slamboree.
- Chris Benoit/Kevin Sullivan Vs Rick Fargo/Mike Hayner
- You know, this could have waited a day. Sullivan and Benoit actually come out together.
- Benoit with the Crossface to finish the match in a matter of moments.
- One word, six letters.
- Squash.
- They did seem to get along to work well.

- Gene is with Benoit, Sullivan, Arn Anderson and Jimmy Hart.
- Chris Benoit tells Sullivan to never refer Benoit as a "kid".
- Benoit is in a league of his own. Sullivan says the last time he hit a Horseman that man was knocked out.
- Anderson says that at some point they will have to face Anderson and Guerrero.
- Jimmy Hart mentions he is handcuffed to Luger tomorrow night. No one seems to care.

- Diamond Dallas Page Vs Billy Kidman w/o drivers license
- I would be shocked if anyone allowed Kidman his drivers license. As I have said before, he looks like he is fifteen.
- This is Page's first match since coming back from his dismissal.
- Page blocks a springboard bulldog by throwing Kidman down.
- Diamond Cutter on the limp Kidman to pick up the win.

- Shark and Big Bubba are shown in the crowd laughing and watching the show.

- Gene with the Slamboree Control Center.
- Same stuff, different day.
- Well, Dean Malenko will be defending the WCW Cruiserweight Title against Brad Armstrong at the PPV
- We now go to highlights from Worldwide where Malenko defeated Otani to win the WCW Cruiserweight Title
- Malenko blocked a top rope move and locked in the Texas Clover Leaf to win the match and title.
- I like it. Though, Malenko lost two matches in the tournament, and then gets the first title shot is a little weird. But, what the heck, it works for me.
- Jim Duggan Vs The Barbarian
- Meng distracts Duggan, which allows Barbarian to go to work on Duggan.
- Meng with a few blows on the floor to help out Barbarian.
- Duggan goes for a head butt, but that doesn't affect Barbarian and he knocks Duggan down.
- Duggan goes to tape his fist, but Meng knocks that out of his hands.
- Barbarian goes clothesline Duggan, but instead clotheslines Meng on the apron.
- Duggan gets a 2x4 and hits Meng, and swings at Barbarian.
- Referee DQ's Duggan
- Your Winner: The Barbarian via disqualification

- Arn Anderson is with Gene. Gene goes over the tournament at Slamboree.
- Anderson says that the tournament is a task for anyone.
- He doesn't want a part of Randy Savage.
- Arn Anderson makes a point to say the winner of Battle Bowl wins a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Title.
- Anderson says there isn't a conspiracy for tomorrow night. Everyone is out for themselves.
- Gene plugs the PPV.
- End of show
- The Good: Billy Kidman may be my favorite jobber. He is a pretty good seller.
- The Bad: The fact that Meng could be pushed as a monster, but he seemingly never gets that big win.
- The Ugly: Lazy booking.
