WCW Monday Nitro - Monday, May 27th, 1996

- Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbysko will be commentating for the first hour.
- This is the first two-hour edition of Nitro
- They hype up Sting/Scott Steiner which is the main event tonight.
- Tony hypes up various matches on tonight's show.
- American Males vs. Arn Anderson/Ric Flair
- Hmm. Starting off this big show, with the American Males?
- It could be worse. Two letters... BM.
- The Males are finally getting boos.
- Too bad they're good guys.
- Horsemen double-team Riggs on the floor early on.
- The Males gain control with Bagwell dropkicing Flair a few times and Riggs delivering right hands on Anderson in the corner.
- Bagwell avoids a clothesline on the floor and Anderson hits the post.
- Commercials
- Bagwell fights out of the corner delivering right hands. Backdrop on Flair
- Anderson chop blocks Riggs' knee and works on the knee for a few moments.
- Flair enters and briefly works on the knee of Riggs as well.
- After several moments, Riggs nails Anderson with a kick to Anderson's head which sends Anderson to the floor.
- Bagwell gets the hot tag and cleans house. Missile dropkick on Flair for a near fall.
- A bridge suplex by Bagwell on Flair, Riggs has the referee distracted.
- Woman rakes Bagwell's eyes.
- Anderson enters and plants Bagwell with a DDT. Flair pins Bagwell.
- Your Winners: Arn Anderson and Ric Flair via pinfall
- Gene comes over and interviews Flair and Anderson.
- Anderson says he has never seen a football player he couldn't beat nor a woman Flair couldn't get. Referring to Debra.
- Flair takes his usual shot at Savage.

- Oh God, a video of Mongo and Greene working out is shown.
- They look ridiculous.
- Steve Doll Vs The Mauler w/ Col. Robert Parker
- The Mauler is Mike Enos, better known as Beau Beverly, of the Beverly Brothers in the WWF, circa 1992-1993.
- Overhead belly-to-belly suplex by Mauler.
- Middle rope fall away slam by Mauler as well.
- Mauler has dominated the match. They fall to the floor and brawl.
- Commercials.
- Wait a second. We come back from the break and if I'm seeing things correctly, RAZOR RAMON is walking through the crowd to the ring.
- Once he enters the ring, the match stops.

- Ramon rips on the Macho Man Randy Savage.
- He wants "Scheme" Gene. He has a challenge for Sting and Savage.
- "You want a war?... Your going to get one!"
- He walks to the backstage area.
- That's where I have a problem. He enters through the crowd, he should leave through the crowd. Going to the backstage area kind of kills the whole idea, for me.

- Sgt. Craig Pittman w/ Teddy Long Vs Diamond "One foot hit the floor damn it" Dallas Page
- Pittman gets his fair share of shots in, but Long causes his downfall.
- Long gets in Page's face who is in Pittman's Code Red move. Page shoves Long into the railing.
- Moments later, Page nails Pittman with the Diamond Cutter for the win.

- A video promoting the "suspended" Randy Savage is shown.

- Backstage, Gene is with Shark. Apparently Kevin Sullivan kicked Shark out of the D.o.D.
- Shark promises he will win the WCW Title from the Giant tonight.
- Shark mentions Hogan.
- Gene with a obvious transition into the Hogan video.
- The same video from Saturday Night is shown, hyping up Hogan.
- Second hour of Nitro is underway.
- Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan are on commentary.
- They hype up Mongo/Greene working out for their match against Flair/Anderson
- For the WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Shark Vs © The Giant w/ Jimmy Hart
- Shark is unable to knock Giant down. Giant with a clothesline.
- Shark with a double axe handle off the middle rope and attempts a scoop slam.
- Giant blocks and connects with one of his own. Shark rakes Giant's eyes and delivers a few shoulders to his midsection.
- Hart distracts Shark which allows Giant to connect with the choke slam for the win.

- For the WCW World Television Championship: Maxx Vs © Lex Luger
- How Maxx qualified for a TV title shot is beyond me.
- Maxx with the early advantage with a shoulder block which Luger sells as if it was a gun shot.
- Side slam by Maxx for a near fall. Maxx runs into a boot and a running forearm.
- Scoop slam by Luger. Torture Rack and Maxx gives up.
- Your Winner: And Still WCW Television Champion, Lex Luger via submission
- Gene enters the ring to interview Luger. Luger says he wants The Giant.
- Video of the Giant choke slamming Luger through a table is shown.
- Luger wants to wrestle every big man in WCW before the Giant.

- Bobby Walker Vs Brad Armstrong
- If Bobby Walker beats Armstrong... I don't know what I will do, but it's not going to be good.
- Walker stumbles on a top rope cross body attempt, but still connects with the move.
- Walker with another stumble on the top rope, but connects with a leaping neck breaker to win.
- Your Winner: Bobby Walker via pinfall
- That's ridiculous.

- Lord Steven Regal w/Jeeves Vs Alex Wright
- Wright with a head scissors take down. Regal goes to the floor.
- Wright over the top onto Regal on the floor.
- Regal with a take down and four palm strikes on Wright.
- Regal continues to control the bout with uppercuts. Wright with a few of his own.
- Wright comes back with a dropkick. Backdrop by Wright. Standing spin kick by Wright as well.
- Regal shoves Wright off in the corner and rolls Wright up for the win.

- Gene enters the ring to interview Regal. Regal rips on Gene.
- Go Regal!
- Regal rips on Savage and Giant. Regal puts himself over. He says it's time to speak up.
- He is not bothered by stupid fans. Regal has a issue to challenge to the "painted up clown" Sting.

- Scott Steiner Vs Sting
- Handshake. Sting hip tosses Steiner down.
- Gorilla press slam by Steiner. Sting with a dropkick. Springboard back elbow by Sting.
- Steiner goes to the floor, Sting dives over the top onto Steiner.
- Double under hook slam by Steiner. Belly-to-belly suplex by Steiner.
- Steiner with a double axe handle from the top to the floor on Sting.
- Steiner runs into a big boot. Overhead belly-to belly-suplex by Steiner. STF as well by Steiner.
- Sting reverses a suplex into a reverse DDT. Stinger Splash.
- Sting misses a second Stinger Splash. Steiner with a full nelson suplex.
- Lex Luger and Rick Steiner head down to the ring. Steiner with a middle rope Samoan Drop.
- Sting blocks the Frankensteiner. Scorpion Death Lock but Steiner reaches the ropes.
- Tombstone piledriver by Sting for a near fall. Sting suplexes Steiner to the floor.
- Steiner goes for a slam on the floor but Luger attacks Scott.
- All four men brawl in the ring.
- The locker room empties to break things up.

- Eric and Bobby hype up what we just saw.
- Ramon comes over and tells Bischoff to get three of their best in WCW.
- Ramon wants Savage, Sting and whomever.
- He says "WE are taking over!"
- Ramon leaves as Heenan and Bischoff are silent.
- The Good: Ramon is in WCW. Regal apparently getting to feud with Sting. The main event was good until the finish.
- The Bad:Most of the matches were Saturday Night material.
- The Ugly: Bobby Walker defeating Brad Armstrong.
