WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 09/06/97
WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 09/06/97
- Weeyah on the muthah sheeyip... Lets Get It AWN!
- Jeff Jarrett (w/Debra) beat Prince Iaukea with... The Figure Four
Leglock!
- Sign in the crowd: "Mongo. Enough said." At least there's
another Mongo fan in existance.
- Syxx beat Johnny Swinger with the Buzzkiller.
- Squash match #2. That's more in this program than in all
three hours of last Monday's Nitro!
- {Das Bracketlover} Alex Wright beat Chavo Guerrero Jr. with the
German Suplex.
- It sure is nice being able to type up these results before the
match starts.
- Wright actually brought out his belt.
- Chavo doing Wright's dance in the ring. Sad.
- For the fourth time, we WON'T be seeing the nWo's take on
Arn's retirement.
- Wright's kneepads make it look like his knees are down by his
shins. Pull 'em up!
- After the match, someone nailed Wright in the face with a
wadded up piece of paper.
- On The Road report, coming to you directly from... WCW Studios,
from... a long time ago!
- Hotline Report, by Tony S., not Gene-O! Oh Yes!
- A former champion is coming to WCW. Probably talking about
ECW talent.
- If one of you actually calls the hotline, please e-mail me
what they said so I can a)Report the information, and b)Laugh at you for
paying for that crappy info.
- Dave Taylor's push continues with a win over Billy Kidman after a
Double-Underhook Suplex.
- Wrath and Mortis (w/Vandenburg) lost to Glacier and Ernest Miller
after outside interference by Faces of Fear.
- Faces of Fear came out and attacked Wrath on the outside while
the ref is distracted. FOF roll him back in the ring and Glacier pins
Wrath for the 1-2-3.
- Length of entrance for Wrath/Mortis: Can't count that high!
- Length of entrance for Glacier/Miller: Thankfully cut short!
- Stevie Richards beat Jim Powers after JP was laid out by a Raven
DDT.
- Teddy Long distracted the ref, Raven came into the ring and
NAILED Powers.
- Teddy Long is OBSOLETE! He is worthless as a manager. He
doesn't do anything, doesn't say anything, and nice stable of jobbers!
Sad.
- DDP beat The Renegade with a Diamond Cutter after The Renegade was
sitting on the top rope.
- Those new Diamond Cutter T-Shirts are pretty cool.
- The Sting footage from the end of the last Clash was shown for the
seventh or eight time. Put it to rest! It wasn't that great!
- Chris Jericho (w/the cruiserweight belt) beat Hector Guerrero with
the Liontamer (Boston Crab).
- This is the old WWF Superstars type show: every match is a
squash w/the same booking (loser is beaten, comes back, gets the
2-count, then the winner comes back, hits the final move and wins)
except for the last match, which is a throw-up between a couple of
mid-carders.
- No Gene-O at all today! OH YES!
- Scott Norton (W/Vincent and Buff Bagwell) beat Hugh Morrus with a
Brain Buster.
- Morrus' only offense was against Vince and Buff.
- Total squash match. Not a match tonight that hasn't been a
squash. So much for improving the show. Sad.
- Public Enemy beat High Voltage in a no DQ, anything goes match.
- Kaos was put in a huge rubber trash bin while standing up, and
PE ran the table into him.
- Trash cans, brooms, trays, hose of some kind, hubcap, lids...
all in the ring.
- Dusty: "I'm not EVEN gonna try ta call what it is."
- Curt Hennig beat Konan (w/Vince) by way of disqualification.
- Hennig had Konan in the Perfect-Plex (Fisherman's
Suplex/Hennig-Plex) and Vincent came in and groined him.
- Syxx, Konan and Virgil... err, Vincent... pounded away on Hennig,
then Benoit and Mongo came in for the save.
- Dusty: "Oh man that'll crack your back, make your livah
quivah!"
- Tony S.: "And look at this capacity crowd!"
- Uhm, Tony, The camera just panned the crowd and there are
whole sections that are darn near empty.
