WCW Worldwide - Sunday, 9/28/97
- I've decided, since most of the show is on Sunday, just to stick to Sunday's date, just in case you were wondering.
- Wow...I've got nothing else to say to start off this week, so let's get to it...
- Chavo Guerrero, Jr. over Ben Cheeks by Death Valley Driver
- If you guys look back at the last couple weeks, you've noticed that I've been wowed over by the bigger starts that have been showing up...well, I've gotten over it. What I'd like right now is a close match...and this is about as close as they've gotten...
- Back to the show, later on in this show, Nash wrestles Prince Iaukea..guess that blows Hall and Nash wrestling together for another week...
- We have the usually gab fest, instead of attention to the match...comments about Eddie G's turn, Halloween Havoc, Piper, Hogan, cage...
- For those who haven't see Cheeks before, he's got this frizzy stuff on the side of his tights, and it kept coming off, and onto the wrestling mat..it was a mess by the end...
- Chavo hit Cheeks with a big and high dropkick, looked like it would have reached his head...
- For some reason, at the end of the match, Brain starts asking Schivone if he's happy in WCW and other question of the sort...as I say every week, Heenan would be nWo if Hogan wasn't...and the day Hogan leaves is the day before he joins up, if he isn't already...
- Lots of hype for the other matches...Masa Hiro Chono and Great Muta will be in action
- Hallowen Havoc Ad - Piper vs Hogan stuff
- Vincent and Syxx over the Southern Posse when a SP submits to Syxx's Buzzkiller
- The heat machine is working hard to give the nWo boos, because everyone else is cheering them...
- Oh no, with the other matches today, it'll be three nwo matches on Worldwide...Tony and the Brain are worried that they may be taking over...
- Something occured to me while watching Vincent's offensive arsenal in this match...he's got about the same wrestling abilites as Hogan or Luger, but he gets so much less of a push...Isn't life unfair?
- Vincent was kept in the ring most of the time (what a surprise), and Syxx got the hot tag, and cleared house...
- While Syxx gives out the Buzzkiller, Vincent attacks the other SP, and gives him a half nelson...guess that must be his finisher...
- Brad ('Tweener) Armstrong over Chad Fortune by Russian Leg Sweep
- Is Brad supposed to be heel or face? Heck, he doesn't even know...he slaps hands with fans and gets cheered even while the heat machine is turned to FULL BOO and the announcers put him down for changing his ways.
- Match starts, and Brad starts to act heelish, so I'm guessing he just forget before, and it was taped...
- Nope, I'm still confused...during the match, the heat machine is changed so that Fortune is being booed, and Armstrong cheered...
- Maybe no one knows what's going on, but Armstrong starts choking Fortune into the mat, and won't let go until the ref makes him.
- Hallowen Havoc...same as before, but longer...
- Muta and Chono over El Dandy and Damien when Damien submits to a STF from Chono
- I've got guess that this match is at least two months old, since Muta and Chono haven't been on Nitro since before Road Wild...
- El Dandy has BIG hair
- Some nice double teaming by the Luchadors, but Damien misses a splash on Muta and hits Dandy, and the Japanese nWo takes over...
- I don't care how many times I see it, I love seeing a handspring elbow..it just looks so cool
- Kevin Nash w/Scott Hall and Syxx for no reason over Prince Iaukea by "release powerbomb"
- This has nothing to do with the match itself, but I feel the need to say point it out to everyone who may have not heard..Coming out soon for the Nintendo 64 is a new WCW game, WCW vs nWo. To cut to the chase, the 7 of the nWo guys are Nash, Hall, Savage, Syxx, Hogan, Norton and Bagwell, all of which I'm fine with. The problem occurs when ever I look at the last two names : FAKE STING and ERIC BISCHOFF!!...Come on, neither of those two people actually wrestle and Muta, Chono, heck, even Vincent would be better if you were looking for a nWo-ite. And you know who isn't in the game? Booker T and Stevie Ray...I'm ticked, big time! Oh yeah, the match...
- Nash spends most of the time in the match conversing with Hall while the Prince is lying on the ground in pain...of course, neither wore their belt (I'm assuming they knew this would be shown much later and assumed they would have given the belts away at some point)
- Heenan thinks the Prince should just give up, because even if he got lucky and won, he would get beat up by the Wolfpack...I tend to agree.
- Iaukea does get some moves in...a couple of dropkicks shake the big man, and then the Prince goes to the top, and a missle dropkick knocks Nash to the mat!
- Late in the match, Nash grabs the ref's hand, Mark Curtis, and makes it form the nWo symbol
- Next week, Steiners....
