WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 10/11/97
By Kevin Templeton
- WCW TV Champion Disco Inferno defeated Hardbody Harrison via submission with The Last Dance.
- Dusty said he wonders if Jacquelyn can take a Bionic Elbow. She would whip Dusty's fat ass.
- Disco was way over with the crowd, suprisingly enough.
- nWo promotes the new Outsiders t-shirt. Pretty amusing promo.
- Dusty and Tony come back talking about Halloween Havoc. Dusty has a stereotypically gay haircut.
- Ray Traylor pinned Rick Fuller with a sidewalk slam.
- Recap of Nitro with Flair/Henning and Piper/Hogan.
- Dusty and Tony come back saying that their is going to be some major announcement on Nitro about the Jeff Jarrett/Mongo match at Havoc. Probably that Jarrett is gone. For those of you who don't know, Jarrett's contract was not renewed and he is no longer with WCW. Rumor is the WWF wants him back.
- Replay of the Booker T/Jeff Jarrett match on Nitro with Debra slapping Mongo.
- Scheme Gene comes on hawking his hotline about some legend coming back to fight a former member of the Horsemen.
- Meng defeated Wrath with The Tongan Death Grip
- One thing I hate about the Glacier-Mortis-Wrath angle is their entrances are sooo damn long.
- Dusty needs to be fired. He is a horrible excuse of an announcer. He might be half decent if he spoke English.
- "Lioheart" Chris Jericho defeated Denny Brown with The Lion Tamer.
- Denny Brown used to be a great light heavyweight. He is no longer light, nor great.
- Billy Kidman defeated Willy Worthman with a Shooting Star Press.
- Why the hell is WCW pushing Kidman?
- During the match when Kidman was thrown outside the ring, Raven, who was at ringside, pimp slapped Kidman.
- That damn Big Boys shopping network with Public Enemy annoys me to no end.
- Mike Tenay comes back with The Lucha Libre report.
- Bill Goldberg pinned Roadblock after a suplex.
- Goldberg looks like a Steve Austin wannabe. Austin would whip Goldberg's ass.
- I'm sitting here wondering why Dusty has his job. The only good reason I can think of is that he has compromising pictures of Bischoff and Hogan...together.
- Yugi Nagata pinned Steve Armstrong with a belly to belly over the top suplex.
- Dave "Fit" Finlay pinned Dave Taylor after a tombstone piledriver.
- This was Finlay's first match in WCW since April 22, 1996 when he had that parking lot brawl with Steve Regal.
- "The Total Package" Lex Luger pinned Scott "Flash" Norton after an elbow to the back of the head. Note, this is not a typo.
- Believe it or not, it didn't end with a Human Torture Rack. The end was set up by attempted interference by Konan.
- Dusty on Norton's bearhug on Luger: "He's making his back crack, his liver quiver, and his knees freeze".
- Dusty: "I retired at a very young age, you know..."
