WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 11/15/97
- Steven Regal made Chris Adams submit to the Regal Stretch in a pretty clean job.
- Chris Adams opens the show for the second week in a row.
- Wow, a feud started and continuing on WCWSN. This may turn into a real wrestling show.
- Raven's Flock shows up during the match, sans Stevie Richards (more on that in my Monday Night report).
- Dave Taylor attempted to interfere towards the end, but it backfired. Thus, it maybe tainted the win just a little, but it was still a pretty clean job.
- After the match, Regal referred to Adams as a "bloody" peasant, so Regal may be a "Lord" again.
- Two, count 'em, two times after the match, Regal did the thing where he shows off his bicep, and uses his other hand to push it up and make it bigger.
- Kidman pinned Juventud Guerrera following a shooting star press.
- Kidman is now billed as being from Allentown, PA.
- Dusty going on and on about Bret Hart. Hmmm, certainly is making my position on the whole thing seem tenuous.
- This was a good match. Definitely a see-saw affair.
- The Flock comes in for a short mudhole stomp on Guerrera after the match.
- Glacier pinned Barry Horowitz following a Chronic Kick.
- Boy, would I ever have liked to see Horowitz win this match.
- Horowitz played the heel big time in this match.
- Okerlund interviewed Teddy Long with Hardwork Bobby Walker. Basically, a promo for Bobby Walker. Teddy Long say Bobby has a gap said there is someone in WCW that can fill that gap. Hmmm, I guess WCW keeps an orthodontist on the staff.
- Norman Smiley made Lenny Lane submit with a forward roll into a groin pull submission hold. Nice move.
- Norman said "WCW Number One" coming out of the entranceway. I guess he's going to be a face.
- After the match, Norman volunteered to help Chris Adams in his feud.
- Norman has about as much charisma as Chavo Guerrero, Jr. Oh, well, I guess it could be worse...it could be Norman the Lunatic.
- Horshu (sic) pinned Jumpin' Joey Maggs following a flying shoulder block off the second turnbuckle.
- Horshu is a Power Plant graduate. Built like Goldberg with a horseshoe shaved into his head.
- Safety first, Horshu removed his earrings before the match.
- Horshu's big gimmick seems to be flexing his arms and fists into the shape of a horseshoe after he does something clever.
- Interview with Alex Wright and Queen Debra. He's "sick and tired of WCW". He's either going nWo, or his contract is up and he's going to be jobbing to everyone under the sun.
- WCW World Television Champion Saturn made Chad Fortune submit to the Rings of Saturn to retain the title.
- The thing that's really bugging me about Raven and his flock is the earrings and the pierced eyebrows. Realistically, their opponents should be yanking on those things. I think it makes wrestling lose its credibility.
- Promo for World War III. Still has Barry Horowitz in it.
- La Parka pinned "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton following a corkscrew splash from the top turnbuckle.
- Man, I really like La Parka. Came to the ring strumming his chair like an air guitar. Also did his little strut.
- Bobby Eaton fell for the offered handshake by La Parka before the match. After twenty years in the business, you wouldn't think Bobby would fall for that.
- Nitro is in Baltimore the day after Starrcade. The Living Legend and the Brain will be signing autographs in Baltimore this Friday.
- Rhodes talking about what a great tag team wrestler Bobby used to be. Yeah, lots of room for Bobby Eaton in the organization, what with the nWo and the Flock.
- The Chairman gets his chair and sits in the middle in the ring after the match. Lord knows why.
- Teddy Long comes out saying he believes in Bobby Eaton and says he has a proposition. Fade to commercial. Interesting, as I had heard Eaton and Maggs were being promoted as the new Midnight Express. Looks like it may be Eaton and Walker.
- Mortis pinned Super Calo following the Flatliner.
- In an upset, Hector Garza pinned Alex Wright following a standing moonsault.
- After "shoot-style" finish that looked totally unplanned. Remember, shoot-style finishes, you heard it hear first.
- After the match, Debra called Wright a loser.
- The Faces of Fear w/Jimmy Hart defeated Public Enemy when Meng made Johnny Grunge submit to the Goozle after Johnny Grunge got sent through a table. A clean job.
- After the match, The Giant came out to make the save on Grunge. Staredown between Giant and Meng. Fade to black.
