I'm still sticking with (more accurately, hoping) that
this whole Bret Hart thing is a work....but I'm not going
to say another thing about it. I don't know why this bugs
me so much, but I've found another reason to be bugged by
Eric Bischoff...his Bischoff 3:16 - I Just Broke Your
Back banner at the WCW
site. I really think he gave Alex Wright lessons on
arrogance...
Maybe this is slightly related, but does it seem like WCW
is burying Harlem Heat? With the rumor of the breakup of
all standard tag teams, maybe that's why it's occuring to
me..but I honselty can't remeber when the team got a win
in singles or doubles without some sort of screw job like
Chris Adams telling the ref about
cheating by Taylor/Regal
Dean Malenko holding down JJ
while Booker T got the pin. Could someone tell me
when they did win clean versus someone good
last?
When I woke up this morning, we had our first snowfall of
the winter...it's beautiful outside..
Of course, I woke up late, missing the opening and about
a minute of the first match....
Villano IV and V over Doc Dean and Barry Houston by
Flying Cross Body Block by IV on Houston
Wow, I didn't know the winner when I tuned in...a
very close match
A very quick match too ...both teams kept it
moving back and forth.
I guess knowing the match would last a whole
three minutes would allow you to keep moving.
After the match. the Villanos took some fake
punches at each other, and some fake
pratfalls....Odd.
Chris Benoit vs Syxx in the main event! They're
going to make Benoit job on Worldwide!
World War Three commerical
Guerrero vs Mysterio for the Cruiserweight belt
Nagata vs Dragon...Ultimo gets five minutes in
the ring with Sonny Onoo if he wins.
I remember them using this same stipulation for
Kevin Sullivan and Hogan for the
Wargames...and Giant jumped in with those
two before time ran out...I'm seeing the
same thing with this one, with Onoo
getting another employee, setting up yet
another feud between Dragon and Onoo's
employees
Flair vs Hennig for the US belt - no DQ
Steve Regal over Mike Anthony by Regal Stretch
Ahh back to normalcy...got this match result in
quick.
OH YEAH!!! Raven's Nest is here. Well maybe not,
it looks like they could have be taped at any
match and played now. And I didn't see them when
the screen panned that way before the match
I was about to remark on how slow this match was
going in the middle of a resthold, but they flip
back to the nest...the now retired Stevie
Richards is among them..and then back to the ring
where the action has finally picked back up...
Wait, they actually were there...Raven's head got
in the ring camera's view when the match
ended...they were sitting right in front of the
camera...why'd they watch this match?
This Week in WCW Motorsports....
Dave Taylor highlight package....huh?
Dace Taylor over Juicin' Jim Powers wo/Teddy Long with a
double underhook suplex
Well, that makes a little more sense now...Odd
note, Taylor was all smiles in the higlights, but
he's ticked now
Tony, bringing back the overstatement of the week,
"Powers has a spectuacluar win and loss
record". No, it's Powers has a spectualar
loss record! (It's acutally 3 - 16, before this
one)
Slow match...which speeds up right when I think
to check my email...
10 headbutts by Taylor into the turnbuckle
courtesy of Powers
The finisher came out of nowhere
Nitro highlights....Perry Saturn is the new TV
champ...Stevie Richards thrown out of the ring (maybe
that's how he was written out)...Bill Goldberg, who
took lessons from Syxx on how to be a kleptomaniac...
World War 3 commerical
60 man battle royal for title shot at Superbrawl
Disco Inferno vs Perry Saturn for TV title
God...Disco looks hilarious in the pic they show
for the match
Bobby Eaton over Kevin Northcutt by Alabama Jam
When Eaton's introduced and the other guy isn't,
something strange is going on
Tony takes this match oppurtunity to plug plug
plug World War 3
They're moving in this one...more hype about
Eaton's tag team skills
I swear, it looks like Kevin Nash gave his old
Diesel outfit to Northcutt
Eaton looked to be a little off after the finish
and said something to Nick Patrick...
Another three minute match
Syxx wins nWo style over Chris Benoit by Buzzkiller
Syxx gets intoduced first, and Scott Hall is with
him...this match is now over for Benoit
They do a good job of making the fans make thumbs
down signs
For all of you dreamers that Chris and Malenko
will team up agian...Benoit was called an Iceman
by Tony. Yea, I know it doesn't mean much, but
that doesn't stop me from hoping
Commercals
WCW vs nWo looks real good...I'm going
have to be real cheap not to get it
Are you waiting for Glacier to get in on
this Mortal Kombat/WW3 tie in?
These guys are flying around the ring, Benoit
knocks Syxx to the outside, baseball slide, takes
out both Syxx and Hall outside ring...goes to the
top for the swan dive, but Hall knocks him over
With Benoit hanging from the turnbuckle, we get
to see the Bronco Buster, but Syxx only lands, he
doesn't bounce as usual.
Benoit thrown out of the ring so Hall can attack,
baseball slide by Syxx to repeat the same thing
Beniot gets chopped and Hulks up, going on
fire...He goes for the swan dive agian
HE HITS! Hall runs in, no DQ , Benoit destroys
Hall, but Syxx comes from behind to apply to the
Buzzkiller
