WCW Worldwide - Saturday, 01/24/98
- [Note: This was originally written before Souled Out...I
just forget to send it in...Hope you don't get confused]
- Dang, I'm good. Louie Spicoli's following around Hall
like a lackey. I wonder how long they're gonna go with
that angle. Espically when Syxx comes back, because he
used to be the person who'd follow Hall all over the
place.
- Denver 14, Green Bay 42....And since I'm from Chicago, you
can guess how I feel about making that guess
- One thing I forget last week...when I was talking about
the WCW vs nWo videogame, I forget to mention Ric Flair's
super move in there. He can do the Figure Four, but his
"super" move goes like this: Flair slaps guy,
guy slaps Flair, Flair fakes the slap hurting big time
and falls to the ground, then gets back up on his knees,
begs the guy not hit him, the guy turns away, Flair gets
in a sucker punch. It's hilarious...
- Chan or Charlie, if either you happen to being reading
this...I vote for La Parka and Booker T. Sorry, I don't
feel like mailing this week.
- Which works out really good, because no one
mailed me about the report this week :)
- Ok, that's all I can think of to say (so I know I forget
something), so let's get to the show.
- (The Man They Call) Giant over Vincent by chokeslam
- When I realized that Vincent was coming to
ringside to himself, I feared I'd have to see
Vincent squash...instead, I saw Vincent being
squashed.
- I don't think the nWo Director Of Security got a
move in the whole match
- Lots of talk about Souled Out...all throughout
the show.
- Bobby and Tony skip the hype of the show to hype Flair
vs Bret...I can't see either of them getting a clean win,
WCW settling things with one match would be a big change.
[Guess I was wrong on that one :)]
- Super Calo over Barry Houston by roll up from the rop
rope (yes, a Super Rollup)
- Is Calo really busy of late in EMLL or Promo
Azteca or whatever Mexican promotion he's working
for? He's really hasn't been on frequently, or at
least as often as he was last summer
- Nice close match...I wasn't sure who was going to
pull this one off
- Calo had a great plancha out of the ring...
- Silver King over Lizmark Jr.
- What's going on this week, two luchadors win?
- Both of these guys will be in the eight man lucha
match...should be chaos.
- The ending suprised me...Silver King hasn't done
that well and Lizmark's been hyped by a lot of
the Internet reports from WCW as a future star.
- On a almost totally unrelated note, Bob Ryder of 1wrestling.com
has been reporting that a few luchadors were
arrested by Immigrations Service and deported for
not having the right papers..one of the
Villianos and Pierroth were the two I heard
about.
- In case you cared, I'm angry at
Ryder...they are going to move their ECW
Real Video broadcast of the ECW show to
their premium area. And there's no way I
can afford to get that access
- Thunder highlights from one week ago...I guess we're
getting these instead of Nitro highlights now
- Diamond Dallas Page over Yuji Nagata (w/ Sonny Onoo) by
Diamond Cutter
- Tony and Brain, whose voiceovers are one week
behind, have to give some dumb excuse about DDP
getting medical clearance from his doctor to
wrestle today, since he didn't wrestle on
Thunder.
- I'd talk about how the mighty have fallen, but
Nagata was never that mighty
- Standard DDP squash match...DDP controls early,
gets a DDPancake, heel comes back, DDP reverses a
move, Diamond Cutter..
- I'd love to see Sonny Onoo's photo collection...
- John Nord over Roadblock by Camel Clutch
- Another close match, but slow
- The announcers choose not to pay attention to
this match, so neither do I :)
- "The Macho nWoite" (4 now) Randy Savage (w/Liz)
over Chris Adams by Super Elbow Drop
- Nice main event, IMO.
- Hyped as a rematch of their Thunder matchup...
- Adams may be a "Gentleman", but Liz
sure wasn't a Lady; she slaped Adams a coulpe
times
- Close match...Adams might have had a chance if it
wasn't for Liz...
