WCW {Pro} - Saturday, 04/25/98
- {Pro} fans are happy this weekend, as we get three, count them, three
exclusives.
- Today's the day I attend the Charlotte house show. I wonder what signs of
support for Flair will be there.
- The {Pro} begins with a shot of Goldberg from Thunder a couple of weeks
ago.
- From WCW Saturday Night, Chris Jericho vs. Lenny Lane is reaired.
- Lee Marshall chats with Jimmy Hart and they run down the lineup for
tonight's show
- Pro Exclusive #1: Gedo defeated Evan Kourageous with a strange rollup
- I guess it's Kourageous with a K now.
- Gedo controls most of the match, though Evan gets in a nice
springboard crossbody.
- Gedo has a nice flurry of moves to set up his finisher: a superkick,
followed by a thrust to the throat, and finally a front suplex.
- Gedo has a strange finisher. He gets his opponent in a camel clutch
then tucks his head between his legs and pins him. Mike Tenay didn't know
what to call it.
- Tenay calls Gedo "The Japanese American Dream." Yeah...
- WCW Road Report with Mean Gene
- Scott and Larry talk about the nonexistant WCW tag team scene and Public
Enemy versus High Voltage from Worldwide is aired.
- Pro Exclusive #2: Chase Tatum defeats Robbie Brookside
- Tatum is a Powerplant graduate.
- Robbie Brookside used to be Doc Dean's tag partner in Britain.
- Lee Marshall says the dumb line of the week: "When you're horizontal, it
doesn't matter how much you bench." What position do you bench press in, Lee?
- Tatum with a strong powerslam and finishes off Brookside with a two-
front backbreaker.
- This Week in WCW Motorsports airs.
- Lee Marshall interviews Kevin Nash, who's fighting Sting tonight.
- From Thunder, Goldberg wins another match.
- Pro Exclusive #3: Barry Darsow and John Nord defeated Johnny Attitude and
Johnny Swinger
- Nord's shirt of the week: "You set them up/I knock them down."
- Darsow is a great trash-talker. He asks Nord, "Shall I break his
stinkin' neck?"
- Nord boots around Johnny Swinger and applies the Camel Clutch.
- Darsow puts Nord's sunglasses on him during the Camel Clutch.
- Back in the studio, Larry goes on about tradition and says "Chief Jay
Strongbow is another example of tradition... but I hear he weighs 2000 pounds
now." Heh.
