Hey, it's your friendly neighboorhood Worldwide
watcher...wondering why a delusional, multiple
personality, physical and mental scarred, insane maniac
would make a good world champion...I've had problems with
Hogan for a long time...
My mail of the week...no ever, Aldo Pasqua writes this
piece (after contributing another time to the Worldwide time list):
btw,
it takes sheer constitution to watch Worldwide week after
week. Hang in there. :)
That just says it all, doesn't it?
Hey, remember how I complained a while ago about www.1wrestling.com
going pay access, so poor old me couldn't see ECW? Well,
it's not pay access anymore! Bob 'the Great :)' Ryder
has decided to make the whole site free...definitely worth
checking out...
Enough of that, let's hit the show
Ultimo Dragon over Shima Nobanaga by Dragon Sleeper
As you all remember, and I have to point this out
every time, Nobanaga is Ultimo's student. Ya
think it's time for the student to beat the
teacher? Me neither
You know, I once heard Tenay say that the Asai
moonsault was invented by Ultimo Dragon and
didn't think much of it. But it occurs to me now,
with this whole lawsuit about Ultimo losing his
ring name, it's the first time I've actually seen
his real name and realized that the move was
named after him...
Nobanga gets some offense, including the requsite
flying to the outside dive off the match, a
slingshot plancha
Ultimo ahead early, but Nobanga dominates the
middle..back suplex by Ultimo stops that...
Oh yeah! Running Liger Bomb by Ultimo! That
ROCKED! Hey, if we can see that every week, I'll
pay the fines for the Dragon :) Dragon goes right
for the submission, as if he needed it.
That was a nice match...but I bet they've had
some practice on it :)
Lee Marshall talks to Chris Jericho
Hey, besides Benoit (who's in the TV title
picture), Ultimo, Eddie and Chavo (who are all in
their own angle), who's next in line for the
cruiserweight shot, assuming Malenko isn't coming
back this week? Psychosis? Kidman? The return of
everyone's favorite techno dancer?
Jericho is the 90's Beatles...uh huh
Roadblock over Jeff Bradley by back flip over the ropes
Seriously, on the newsgroup RSPWM, Roadblock is
the Icon of Worldwide...that just says it all,
doesn't it?
Ugh...this match was not good, especially after
the last one.
Let me describe this finisher for those who are
lucky enough not to see. He goes on the apron,
falls back over the ropes and lands, stomach
first, on his victim. Best move of the match
Gedo (w/Sonny Onoo) over Doc Dean camel clutch roll up?
Gedo? Strange...and what's he doing with Onoo? I
don't remember when we saw him last or if he was
with Onoo...
Doc in control early...
Gedo came back late...gourdbuster set up the
weird roll up...I'm really having fun with
finishers today.
Chris Adams over Buddy Lee Parker by Superkick
Lots of mat work....
Tony tells that Buddy Lee is a trainer at the
Power Plant...ironic, don't ya think?
Buddy Lee Parker misses a kneedrop and Adams goes
right up for the Superkick
High Voltage over Mike Enos and Wayne Bloom by Circuit
Breaker
Bet ya wondering what a Circuit Breaker is...ha!
They don't hype it as a rematch of that Nitro
match (or I wasn't listening)...and no Giant to
chokeslam everyone :)
High Voltage faces, Destruction Crew heels, you
can put the rest together...
Blah match...
In case you're wondering, Kaos clotheslines Bloom
while Rage has him in a bearhug. And no, I didn't
make the name up...
Lee Marshall with Chris Benoit
Benoit was well spoken, but not about the TV
Title...just about his performaces in the ring...
Marshall alertly brings up the Dynamite Kid,
who's Benoit's hero...
Something I saw pointed out elsewhere in another
Worldwide review...Benoit and Jericho, the two
guys who did the interviews, are facing off soon
at the Brian Pillman tribute show...cool
Giant destroys, demolishes, smashes, seriously hurts
Glacier by chokeslam
I'm just a little happy about it :)
Glacier gets Giant in the corner, hits him with
all sorts of kicks and chops and Giant no-sells
every single one of them!
Huge powerslam by Giant
Chokeslam is held up for a while...it looked like
Giant didn't have a good hold on him and didn't
want to drop him badly...
