WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 06/27/98
- Wade is moving on up, so I will be your reporter for the Muthaship proceedings.
- Tonight's show is only an hour due to a Major League Baseball contest.
- What if it was the only way around? "Fans, tonight's game will only have six innings of play due to WCW Saturday Night."
- I've always wondered, why do TBS programs usually start at five minutes after the hour? E-mail me if you know.
- Now onto the show...
- "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeats "Mean" Mike Enos with Old Glory
- Hacksaw incites the crowd to chant "USA" as usual.
- Enos attacks first but Hacksaw nails Mike with three clotheslines.

- Duggan comes back by posting Enos twice.

- Duggan comes alive and breaks out of the hold with a couple of elbows.
- Enos misses a few desperation moves and Hacksaw rocks him with a clothesline.
- Hacksaw lands the Old Glory knee drops and pins Enos.
- Starburst Fruit Chews Road Report with Mean Gene

- More footage of the Hogan/Rodman/Malone/Page press conference
- This time, we get to see Buffer introduce each man to the press.
- Of course, Hogan is introduced first.
- We hear a little more talk from Malone until the footage overlaps what we saw on Nitro.
- This Week in WCW Motorsports
- Nitro highlights air

- Wright begins to dominate with an elbow, a dropkick, followed by another elbow.

- Bash of the Beach promo airs. It's sort of nice now, but I'll have a different opinion by July 12.
- Mean Gene plugs the hotline, and hints at the Ultimate Warrior's return to wrestling.
- British Bulldog and Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart defeats Hugh Morrus and the Barbarian (w/ Jimmy Hart) when Smith pins Barbarian after a running powerslam.
- After Morrus and the Barbarian enter, we get ads.
- It's better than an ad break during a match. I really wasn't interested in buying Starbursts during the middle of the Benoit/Hart match on Nitro.
- Barbarian controls initially, but charges into Smith's elbow.
- The Bulldog lands a suplex and tags the Anvil.
- The Anvil lands a couple hands, but quickly falls victim to doubleteam tactics.
