WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 09/12/98
- Welcome to a one-hour editon of Saturday Night.
- Jim Duggan was a Saturday Night mainstay, so best wishes Hacksaw, the Muthaship won't be the same with you!
- For one report at least, I'll hop on the mailbag bandwagon. Here's the lowdown on Bull Pain, from a couple of readers:
- From Jeff F., hailing from Salisbury, NC:
Now Bull Pain. He's been wrestling in the indy promotions on and off for about 10 years or longer. He used to wrestle in the old GWF (which introduced stars like The Patriot, Harlem Heat and X-Pac (Sean Waltman)). Anyway during that time he brought a lady with him named Samantha who dressed about as well as he does. That's all I have on him and that's enough!
- From "Stud Boy" J.R. "Midnight" Ryder & PWK w/El Dedo:
I've got some info on Bull Pain. I think he used to be an arm wrestling champ like Norton. He wrestles around the Midwest a lot on NWA cards. I seen him on Windy City Wrestling here in Chicago. His finisher is pretty original: he sets the guy up for a suplex on the ring apron (you know, bringing him in the hard way), then sets the jobbers feet/legs on the top rope, and DDT's them. I seriously thought he killed the guy I saw him give it to.
- Raven and Kanyon vs. Lodi and Saturn
- Raven and Kanyon enter first.
- Nitro clips air, followed by Thunder highlights.
- Lodi and Saturn are in the ring.
- Lodi grabs the mic.
- Lodi has two stipulations for this match.
- Saturn cannot hit Kanyon or Raven.
- Saturn must wrestle first.
- The match begins with Kanyon missing a swing at Saturn.
- Saturn picks up Kanyon, Lodi yells "Put him down", and Saturn and lands a Spicolli Driver. Not what Lodi had in mind.
- Lodi yells at Saturn.
- Lodi repeats his earlier command, and Saturn confirms "So I can't hit Kanyon or Raven?" Which leads to...
- Saturn lands a Spicolli Driver on Lodi!
- Raven steps in to get the treatment as well.
- Saturn walks off.
- I guess the decision is a no contest.
- Scott and Mike ramble.
- Hugh Morrus (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Rex King
- Rex grabs the early advantage with a couple of hip tosses.
- Hugh steps outside and walks off.
- Jimmy convinces him to go back in.
- Hugh takes over.
- Jimmy gets a choke in.
- Rex briefly regains control, landing a few leg drops.
- Hugh is whipped to the corner.
- Hugh grabs Rex and gives him a bulldog.
- No Laughing Matter from the top, and it's over.
- Kaz Hayashi (w/ Sonny Onoo) vs. WCW Cruiserweight Champ Juventud Guerrera
- Onoo is now managing Hayashi.
- Just announced for Fall Brawl: Juvy vs. Silver King
- Juvy starts off with a dropkick.
- Kaz heads outside, where he is nailed by a flying crossbody.
- Juvy chases after Sonny.
- Back inside, Kaz and Juvy dropkick each other.
- Sonny grabs Juvy, wraps his legs around the posts, and rams him three times.
- Sonny: "Minor adjustment"
- Kaz controls from that point.
- Juvy is laid upside down on the turnbuckles and gets dropkick.
- From the top, Juvy reverses a Kaz aerial move into flying headscissors.
- Kaz blocks a Juvy Driver attempt.
- Second time is the charm for Juvy, who hits the driver and gets the pin
- Nitro highlights
- Jerry Flynn vs. Chris Adams.
- The crowd wisely decides that it's a good time to get some nachos.
- Flynn grabs the early advantage.
- Adams takes control until Flynn lands a kick downstairs.
- Adams shakes it off and continues to control.
- Belly-to-belly suplex by Adams.
- Adams lands a piledriver.
- As Adams rests, Flynn, suddenly applies a cross-armbreaker for the submission win.

- Barbarian (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Wrath

- Wrath and Barbarian whip each other around to begin.
- Powerslam by Barbarian to gain control.
- The Barbarian lands a splash in the corner.
- Out of nowhere, Wrath lands a solid shoulderblock.
- Pumphandle by Wrath into the Meltdown and the win.
- Hugh Morrus runs in, nailing Wrath.
- Meng makes the save.
- Wrath doesn't like the help, and he and Meng go at it.
- Stevie Ray (w/ Vincent) vs. Steve "Mongo" McMicheal
- Vincent distracts Mongo.
- Stevie Ray nails Mongo from behind.
- Mongo fights back as Vincent jumps in.

- Stevie Ray gives crotch chops to the crowd during the beating.

- Mongo and Malenko clean house and celebrate as we go. If you watch carefully, you can seeing Hennig selling kicks from Malenko even after Malenko stops kicking.
