Why was the Disciple passed out by the toilet? Did he get a whiff of Hogan's lunch coming back for revenge?
Why is DDP the people's champion just because he can't figure out to come down the aisle? He should make it the people's diamond cutter.
I don't think the "Suck It" or the "Condom Bit" from Flair was scripted. What do you think?
For the love of God, please don't let Ed Leslie have another character now!
I'm terribly bummed out that I missed the Disco/Kidman and Chavo/Konnan fights, I had a meeting to go to (DOH!).
On the events of last night, I have but one thing to say: What the hell is going to happen to the Disciple's character when Warrior disappears in a puff of Lame Smoke(tm) and Cash(tm)? Perhaps he'll revert to being The Booty Man or something.
Oh well, at least the O.W.N. now has more than one member.
As a high school senior, I have read too many accounts of kids my age doing damn near anything to make wrestling weight. Lots of people have even died. WCW, with Disco's actions on Monday, set the wrong example in my opinion. Instead of helping make aware the dangers of this, they make it into a friggin' angle. Lemme get this straight: in the past 2 weeks, WCW has had: fake paralysis by Buff, sickening public drunkenness by Hall, and now this. Yet WWF takes the low road. Uncle Eric best get the spin docs out on this one.
Let me see, we have Scott Hall and his "bender" angle, there's Buff Bagwell and his bum neck angle, now we have Disco Inferno and his "gotta cut weight for the big match tonight" angle. While I'm not offended like others at what I'm seeing on WCW (Hey, it could be worse. At least Nitro fans aren't clamoring for more head.) it makes me wonder what WCW is trying to do. I mean, alchoholism, neck injuries, and eating disorders aren't funny things to some people. What's next? Will Kanyon commit suicide, leaving Raven to make light of the stages of tragedy? Or perhaps we'll see Rick Fuller get a push under a new angle as the Seal-Clubber (Of course, that opens up a new door for someone like Mike Enos to become a member of PETA, inciting a feud that will be one to talk about for years.).
I need to stop, in case Bischoff is reading this. No point in making him richer off my imagination. Before I go, I have to ask: What is going to become of Wrath? Any ideas? New member of NWO Hollywood?
I wanted to tell you I thought Lenny Lane was kinda funny tonight... the way you made it sound (not inusltin' ya), that he said it all scared, but he said it in the old, "paid off" Lenny Lane of old when he posed as Jericho for cash. Speaking of Jericho, I'm gonna get that damn shirt. God he is hillarious, I HOPE TO GOD he is setting up a Goldberg vs Jericho match! That would be THE BEST! (And if there is a God, Goldberg with walk out of the ring with a Jericho shirt on) Also, am I the only person who actually kinda likes the Hall thing? Tasteless maybe, but in a "sport" that stars a porn star, a vampire with bleeding gums, and guys running around giving everyone crotch chops, I think its alright, and it set up the Hall vs Nash scene well.
I've been wondering a bit, at why Goldberg gets all these semi-unpleasant reviews that all include a 'Jackhammer, *splat*, win.' somewhere in there. Hasn't DDP been doing the same thing for the better part of a year as well?
DDP gets the goods kicked out of him, then sits up and pulls off a miracle win just like Goldberg. If it's a bad thing that Goldberg can pull off quick wins after being lightly hurt, why doesn't anyone object to DDP pulling off a quick win after taking massive amounts of pain?
I'm just sick of seeing DDP matches, because I *know* what's going to happen. This sense of disgust has been building since Spring Stampede, where DDP got hit with a fire extinguisher, then an Evenflow, and *then* a Diamond Cutter, kicked out of the pin, sat up and dropped a Diamond Cutter for the win. Anti-climactic at best, a totally cheap match at the worst.
DDP, Goldberg; the only difference is that Goldberg wrestles four times as many matches a month - they both have the same shtick, just DDP takes longer to do it.
Oh well, just me thinking out loud. Maybe you can mock me in the mailbag come next Nitro report :>
This will be my only mailbag response, since I'm not feeling well.
The reason, I think, that what you say is the case is that it's a lot easier to make fun of Page's interviews than it is his matches. Page has actually, in his career, done the job, so it's not a GUARANTEED win whenever he steps in the ring, whereas you can call the finish of EACH Goldberg match (Jackhammer. Splat. Win.) as soon as he steps into the ring.
Don't worry about being mocked - I try not to mock people with valid opinions, just Hogan.
