• Still haven't gotten over Nitro
  • I figured why they had that Torberg/Windham match on Nitro. See, the WCW bookers read this column (Hi!) and they wanted to have a Worldwide match to make me feel at home. Thanks!
    • Or more realistically, Dale's dad was Jeff Torberg, who managed the White Sox. Maybe he really wanted to wrestle here because of some connections from that time. I don't know...
  • Why do I always get stuck next to the morons? Nope, not you Ryan. Last time, we were next to two guys who seemed more intent on getting drunk then watching the show. This time, we had some locos in front of us, who smoked in their seats (big no-no), stood up (and blocked our view) whenever a nWo guy came to ringside (one was a Wolfpac mark, the other a Hollywood mark and they argued about it all night), but the best part was when they'd finish their cigarettes...they'd just toss them over the railing, in front of them, to land on someones head below. Ugh...
  • The best explanation of why the six man was cut, I hear, was that the program would have gone over. Which Nitro can't do anymore, because TNT wants their new series, Mortal Kombat, to start on time, at least for the new shows...

    I enjoy reading your reports and noticed the other day your comments on Hogan wrestling on Worldwide. I thought that this might interest you: Hogan once fought John Tenta aka The Shark on Worldwide. It was just before the War Games when Hogan with Sting, Macho Man and Luger went against The Dungeon of Doom (the match where Giant snapped Hogan's neck.) I can't remember if it was in '94 or '95...anyway I thought you would just like to know.

    Wow, I think I remember this. Or something like this on {Pro}, which lasted about 15 seconds before the DOD ran in and Savage followed, with a couple of chairs. The MegaPowers cleared the ring, to end the show. Pretty lame for how much they hyped it.

    On Worldwide, Lee Marshall was talking about Nitro being in Wichita. You see, I live in Western Kansas, so I imagine you probably didn't see this unless you live in Kansas. Lee started to plug Arn Anderson's book and his website. Then came Arn himself. Arn talked about the people in Wichita and how they are great workers. He then mentions that the death of Arn Anderson the wrestler is the rebirth and life of the Four Horsemen. He then concludes by saying that Eric Bischoff is like the head of a snake. You cut it off, and it is nothing but a worm. Just thought I would let ya' know.

• I've been dying to say this all week and since it's toally unrelated to this, I think I'll say it now...How did Jeff Jarrett get Head? I don't know, it sounded funny in my mind...

• Let's start with a Sting/Hart, Hollywood/WolfPac recap.

  • Tony and Larry aren't sure their match at Havoc will make it to the ring

• Lee Marshall w/Eddie
  • Lee talks about Eric's problems with Flair, as a way of getting to Eddie
    • Way too many people are feuding with nWo Hollywood, I think. We've got 5 WolfPac guys, 4 Horseman, 5 LWO guys and at least three others (Warrior/Rick Steiner/Booker T) to about 7-8 nWo guys. Some group is going be getting left out, and I bet you can guess which one.
  • Eddie - "Bischoff doesn't respect their wrestlers, who bust their .."
  • Eddie - "He forgets about the real wrestlers, all the wrestlers who go out there and bust their...can't say it on TV."
  • Of note, no LWO shirt. Probably taped before they thought that idea up.

  • He's been Cruiserweight champ for a few months, says Lee.
  • Kidman says it's tougher to be the Champion then to try to win the title
  • Kidman says, no matter win or lose, he always hangs out with the ladies.
• Rick Fuller vs El Dandy
  • Rick Fuller's turned in good matches vs Luchas before, maybe he can do it again?
    • I guess you could say that he's pretty fly...for a white guy
      • I've been waiting all week to use that line too :)
  • Dandy without a LWO shirt, to no real shock.
  • Rick Fuller is 6 foot 7, 315 pounds, according to the announcers.
    • No wrestlers that size in Mexico, Tenay points out
  • Lock up, and Dandy to the mat
  • Fuller whips Dandy to the ropes, misses a clothesline, misses another clothesline...
  • But three's the charm as he gives Dandy a big foot to the face
  • Fuller picks him up and whips him into the ropes
  • Dandy holds on to the ropes and comes back with a punch and a couple of dropkicks
  • However, a crossbody block doesn't fare well, as Fuller catches him and powerslams him to the mat.
  • Fuller picks up Dandy and pushes him into the turnbuckle
  • Whip to the opposite turnbuckle, Dandy moves out of the way, Fuller eats turnbuckle and rolls out of the way.
  • Dandy springboards out of the ring to a standing position on the outside and chops Fuller. Nice, although a simple plancha would have made more sense.
  • Fuller escapes back into the ring and kicks Dandy on his way in. He whips Dandy to the ropes...
  • But Dandy goes for a sunset flip. No dice, as Fuller breaks it with a punch to a head.
  • Fuller with a body slam, walks to the turnbuckle and tries for a running elbow drop, but Dandy moves
  • Dandy goes up top...Missle dropkick, for 2!
  • Dandy with a hard chop and goes for another pin, 2 count.
  • Dandy whips Fuller into the ropes, but Fuller ends up turning it around into a spinebuster. 2 count.
  • Fuller picks him up...K-Driller/Sitting Tombstone, for 3!
• Fit Finley vs Alex Porteau
  • Tenay and Hudson feel sorry for Porteau.
  • They talk up Fit's stiffness.
  • Finley starts the match by pushing Alex into the ropes, breaks clean but gives a hard chop. Man, that looked painful.
  • Finley with a side headlock...Porteau trying to escape by Fit just squeezes tighter.
  • Finley changes it over to a double nerve pinch and then an elbow to Alex's head
  • Finley off the ropes, shoulderblock.
  • Finley off the ropes against, Alex does a leapfrog over him and give Fit a powerslam.
  • Alex whips Finley, dropkick gets all air, as Fit hold the ropes
  • Fit with a big body slam and a hard elbow to the chest
  • Fit with a chinlock, lets go and drops a knee
  • Fit pushes Alex into the corner, whips him out and kills him with a short clothesline!
  • Fit follows that with a double foot stomp, rolls out of the ring and smashes Alex's head in to ring apron
  • Alex gets in a punch as Fit tries to get back in through the ropes.
  • But Fit punches back, gets in the ring and hits a clothesline. 2 count.
  • Fit goes back to the nerve hold...now whips Alex into the corner
  • Alex pulls up the knee as Fit charges in. Clothesline and pin...2 count
  • Alex puts Fit into an armbar
  • Fit reverses and picks up Alex into Fireman's Carry position and slams him forward.
    • That looked cool, wish I knew the name for it.
  • Fit picks Alex up and - Hudson: "What do you want on your Tombstone, Alex!" 3 count for the win.
    • Not quite as surreal as Jim Ross saying "Who's your daddy, D. Lo!" when Undertaker chokeslammed the best European champion that ever lived, but odd still.
• Tony and Larry finish by hyping the PPV matches.
  • You know, instead of all this supernatural junk, they could be so much better be promoting this card as a dream card. Look at every match, they'd announce so far...a year ago, people would be saying you'd be dreaming if you saw any of them happening.
