WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 10/24/98
"...and Eric Bischoff can kiss our..."
- Welcome to Saturday Night! A NASCAR Truck event shortened tonight's Saturday Night. Got any dip?
- My second-ever mailbag:
- From Spike D. Punch:
Huh?! Barry Darsow in golfing attire? Admittedly, it's nice to see them doing something with him, but.....eesh. A few guesses as to the direction of the angle are in order:
- Darsow will job to Tiger Woods at the next pay-per-view.
- Even better, Darsow will job to Tiger Conway Jr., managed by Tiger Woods!
- Darsow will come out with a different excuse, and sport of the day, for quite awhile. Now while the intrepid fan may think this would set up a feud with Curt Hennig (remember the skits with Heenan pitching and Hennig nailing a homer, etc.?), please remember that WCW does not remember its own angles from a month ago, much less an opposing federation's bit that's nearly a decade old. So, he'll get to football and then get trashed by Mongo.
- In a typically tasteless act, the golf clubs will turn out to be Larry Zbyszko's, and Bischoff will cast Darsow in the spot held by the late, great Louie Spicolli.
- Darsow really is trying to make the PGA. Since the PGA is run on the good-ol'-boy system, and WCW is owned by Ted Turner, southeast regional Lord Emperor of the good-ol'-boy system, Darsow will join the tour, so we'll get weekly footage of Darsow skulking about a la Repo Man in the weeds for his ball, and failing to make the cut, in addition to our weekly footage of Lance Pooper coming in 784th at the Lake Wakisaki 300.
- Darsow has gone crazy, and will bring a golf club to the ring for each match. He will form a tag team with Chavo Guerrero Jr. called Lunatics With Sticks.
