WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 11/21/98
WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 11/21/98
- Welcome to Saturday Night! We have three title matches tonight.
- Mailbag!
- From Bill Fluty, hailing from Wichita, KS:
I enjoy seeing a full spectrum of the company's talent, from the big names on top, through the mid-card folks who work excellent matches, on through to the lower tier guys who do an excellent job (no pun intended) putting on matches to get the stars over or deliver some heat. I had some inkling of a shift toward respectability for the Armstrongs a couple of months ago when they were booked to win back to
back matches on Saturday Night. However, since then they have been returned to their normal status -- an now they are not even wrestling as a team. Really sad, as these guys are good in the ring. Lenny Lane is another guy who deserves better. I actually thought Norman Smiley might bet on the winning track against the Prince, but that also turned around, which was okay because I do also like Iaukea, and Smiley looks to maybe be making a bit of a heel turn -- or is he just showing his frustration at being misused? I did like his little dancing steps. I was really surprised, but quite gratified, at seeing Chavo get an upset win over Alex Wright -- who is very good with his heel persona. This is the second version of Pepe to get
whacked to bits...being an inanimate partner with Chavo seems to be a tough
job. I think Chavo's looney bit is hilarious, but I don't see where it may
be going. I like the idea of the LWO, but have any of the luchadores won a
match since this thing started? Has Damien won a match since he came to
WCW? These guys deserve better, as their matches are always fun and
fast-paced.
