WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, 03/27/99
- Welcome to Saturday Night! Tonight's main event is Chris Jericho vs. Perry Saturn
- The mailbag:
- From Aldo:
I don't know about you, but I about fainted when I saw Erik Watts hit a dropkick higher than his opponent's knee.
- From Jason Kreitzer:
Blitzkrieg did not come up with the
name "Sky Twister" or the move itself. The move's full name is the Skytwister Press. It has been used by the Japanese women's wrestler Chaparita Asari and the chairman of WCW, La Parka. According to
Scott Lacy's RSPW Finishing Moves List, it is a "top rope backflip
splash (w/corkscrew.)" That is why Mike Tenay calls it a "twisting
corkscrew moonsault." However, Skytwister Press is the correct name.
- From mailbag regular Bill Fluty:
Not a bad show. I like WCWSN because you're going to at least see some matches, not endless promos, t-shirt commercials, and music videos. Some, but not endless. Plus, any show that has Erik Watts doing the job, rates in my book! Norman Smiley's push seems to be gone, but it's still great to see him action. I do actually like Rappin' With The Cat segment; Ernest Miller is quite good in his new goofy persona. The James Brown style funk doesn't hurt, either.
