And we're LIVE from Little Rock, Arkansas, for WCW Monday Nitro!
Tonight, we find out the final four for Mayhem.
Match 1: Norman Smiley vs. Lanny Poffo^W^WJimmy Hart
- Screamin' Norman Smiley comes out in Arkansas Razorbacks football gear.
- His opponent - Jimmy Hart!
- Hart's borrowed Lanny Poffo's suit of armor.
- Hart's got some plundah.
- Hart tosses the plundah into the ring.
- Smiley can barely see with his helmet.
- There's a steel cage hanging above the ring.
- Hart puts the faceplate down, and gets met with a trash can lid.
- Norman's plundah has little effect on Hart.
- Norm takes Hart down by the legs.
- Norm teases the SMBU.
- Hart has powder, and goes all Memphis on Smiley.
- Hart uses a trash can and broom on Norm.
- Norm takes his helmet off and cries.
- The crowd has a big "Smiley" chant going.
- Hart kicks Smiley, and uses a trash can lid.
- Hart mocks the SMBU, but Norm stops him.
- "Jelly" Brian Knobbs runs down and hits Norm in the back with a chair.
- The shot to the back doesn't faze him, so Knobbs hits one to the head.
- Hart covers, but only gets two.
- Knobbs sets up a decrepit table.
- Hart gets some beverage in the face.
- Hart almost gets a pin on a collision.
- Knobbs sets Smiley up on the table, and turns to celebrate as Hart gets on the apron.
- Smiley, of course, moves, and Hart puts himself through the table.
- Smiley covers for the pin.
- Post-match, Knobbs beats the tar out of Smiley in the ring.
Tonight, Curt Hennig takes on Bill Goldberg
- If Hennig can beat Goldberg, he gets a new contract.
- In the back, Hennig talks about giving Goldberg a fight, win or lose.
Kim walks through the back, and finds Terry Taylor.
Kevin Nash is dressed like Sid in the back.
- Cubs Fan: Nash should just take that comedy act on the road. Particularly some place where I don't have to see it each week.
Mike Tenay talks to Spice about AC Jazz not showing up for her match
- Jazz is also out of the Nitro Girls.
- Fyre and Tygress run out to jump Spice.
Hall and "Sid" come out
- Hall: "Hey yo."
- The Outsiders have a special message for Sid. Sid's as dumb as he looks, and Hall has the proof right here (as he points at Nash).
- "Sid" talks smack about Sid.
- After a while of smack-talking, Sid's music comes on.
- The real Sid makes his way down.
- Sid says he's tired of the Outsiders making him look like a jackass.
- Sid says to Nash "I know that you are only half the man that I am." Then he adds: Click here
- Sid says Hall's road to the WCW title ends tonight.
- Sid challenges Nash, if Nash "has the balls".
- Nash says he's still retired.
- Sid begs Nash to be a man, not a clown, for once in his life.
- Sid calls Nash a shell of his former self.
Tenay talks to Booker T
- He'll be facing Patrick and Gerald, "Creative Control."
- Booker says Midnight is going to strike.
- Creative Control announces that Kimberly is there.
- Patrick and Gerald. As in "Patterson" and "Brisco"?
Kim is talking to Russo
- Kim says she's not a wrestler.
- Russo says Kim's still under contract, and if she doesn't want to be a Nitro Girl, she'll be a wrestler.
- She gets a tuneup match tonight against Asya.
- There'll be a special guest referee.
Nash as Sid comes and sits down in Russo's office.
Match 2: Booker T vs. Patrick and Gerald
- Booker T's music comes on.
- Chavo Jr. stops Booker on his way to the ring to sell him some Amway.
- Tony's getting word that the Powers have waived Nash's retirement. Sid vs. Nash tonight.
- Booker starts off early on one.
- Booker eats boot, and a running clothesline.
- CC with a double-elbow.
- Booker reverses a guardrail whip, but gets clotheslined by the other one.
- Booker dropkicks both CC members at the same time.
- Axe kick, breakdance, and Booker goes up top.
- Booker lands the Missile Dropkick, but the other CC member makes the save.
- Doubleteam side slam from CC for the pin.
- The punishment continues after the bell, but the lights go out.
- A clock gongs.
- When the lights come back on, the same woman from last week is in the ring.
- She punches out the CC members. She and Booker clear the ring, and they embrace.
The First Family argues in the back.
Goldberg enters the arena.
Russo isn't happy that CC got beat up by a woman.
- Russo threatens CC with their old gimmicks.
- Russo wants CC to get Torrie and the Luchadors.
Match 3: Johnny Boone vs. Evan Karagias
- Yes! Johnny Boone!
- He'll be facing Evan Karagias.
- This is the Mayhem "Match of the Week"
- Evan comes out solo.
- My bad, Madusa's following behind.
- Boone attacks at the bell.
- Evan gets the better of the brawl.
- Madusa's doing her phone sex voice in the announce booth.
- Boone avoids a corner charge.
- Still more generic brawling.
- Evan eats boot several times.
- Boone rips Evan's necklace off.
- Madusa pulls Boone's shirt off, makes him eat grapefruit, and pushes him backward.
- Evan covers for the pin.
- Madusa applies the Liplock to Evan after the match.
Russo's gonna offer the Luchadors a deal
- He's going to put a $10,000 check inside a piñata.
- Villano V, Psychosis, El Dandy, Silver King, and Juventud will have sticks, and be able to beat each other or the piñata.
Dr. Death Steve Williams comes into the building, along with a Jim Ross lookalike (!)
CC is looking for Torrie Wilson.
Match 4: Piñata Match: Silver King vs. Psychosis vs. El Dandy vs. Villano V vs. Juventud Guerrera
- The piñata falls down three seconds into the match!
- Dr. Death is at ringside.
- This is Shockmaster level of sad.
- Fake JR is doing the palsy face. That's just wrong. F*** you, WCW©.
- Generic Lucha stuff in the ring.
- Juvi plays to the crowd with the piñata.
- Dandy knocks Juvi down.
- Swank DDT from Villano.
- Fake JR plugs his BBQ sauce.
- All the luchadors climb the turnbuckles with the piñata.
- JuviDriver on SIlver King.
- Latino Elbow!
- Juvi breaks open the piñata.
- Dr. Death rushes the ring and beats the tar out of the Luchadors.
- Silver King has the check, but Dr. Death takes it away.
- Death press-slams King onto the top turnbuckle.
- Dr. Death celebrates after the match.
Goldberg says he has professional respect for Curt Hennig
- Goldberg, though, doesn't give a damn about anything.
Nash is dressed as Nash in the back
- Nash says that WCW sucked, and he was going to take time off until things got fun again.
- Nash promises to climb up Sid's ass and kick his teeth out from the inside.
Match 5: Bill Goldberg vs. Curt Hennig
- Goldberg leaves his dressing room, but Hennig slams a door in Goldberg's face.
- Goldberg isn't fazed, and the match starts in the back.
- Goldberg beats on Hennig in the hallways.
- Apparently, the bell hasn't sounded yet.
- They brawl up to the ramp area.
- There goes the bell, as they enter the ring area.
- The brawl around the ringside area for a bit.
- They finally get into the ring, with Hennig having the advantage.
- Hennig with the dropping knee scissors.
- Stepover toe hold by Hennig.
- Goldberg escapes with a punch to the choppers
- Goldberg finally has enough, and chokes Hennig.
- Goldberg applies the rolling cross-legbreaker, and Hennig taps!
- Hennig loses, but doesn't get pinned.
- Post-match, Hennig hits the referee. Goldberg then spears and Jackhammers him.
Kim is on the phone, talking to DDP
- The lights flicker again. Kim says "Oh God, not again!"
- Jim Duggan comes in with a flashlight, and blames the fuses. He gives her the flashlight, and goes to fix the fuses.
CC finds the Animals.
- CC says "We need Torrie."
- Kidman: "Everybody needs Torrie!"
- CC says if the Animals don't come up with Torrie, they're out of jobs.
- The Animals huddle, and go to find Torrie.
Janitor Jim needs some fuses. Amway Chavo has lots of fuses.
Match 6: Vampiro and The Misfits vs. Berlyn and The Wall
- Vampiro and the Misfits come out first.
- Berlyn makes his way out, with his bodyguard "The Wall."
- Berlyn has a long chain with him.
- Berlyn and Vampiro start what appears to be a handicap tag match.
- Berlyn with the early advantage.
- Vampiro avoids a dropkick, and hits a clothesline.
- Vampiro tags The Wall.
- One of the Misfits tag in, and all three of the Misfits attack The Wall.
- Wall chokeslams the Misfits.
- Vampiro comes in against both Berlyn and The Wall.
- Vampiro takes Wall over the top, but turns around, and gets met with a spinwheel kick.
- Wall comes back in.
- Wall makes the cover.
- Berlyn pulls Wall of Vampiro, and sends Wall to the corner.
- Vampiro with a reverse enzuigiri and the Nail in the Coffin.
- Vampiro tries a top-rope Frankensteiner, but Berlyn turns it into a SuperBomb.
- Wall breaks the pin.
- Wall and Berlyn argue.
- Vampiro rolls Berlyn up, but Berlyn kicks him off.
- Vampiro gets sent right into Wall, who chokeslams him.
- Berlyn lets Wall get the pin.
- Berlyn whips Vampiro with the chain, and chokes him with it..
CC has Torrie with them.
Torrie is talking to Russo
- Torrie's saying she doesn't know how to ref.
- Russo tosses her a ref bikini, and sends her to the back, since it's all about the ratings.
Match 7: WCW World Television Champion Rick Steiner vs. Sid Vicious
- The Gay Biker makes his way out.
- Steiner's not even bothering to wear the TV belt again.
- Sid makes his way out.
- They start brawling from the get-go.
- On the floor, Rick sends Sid over the guardrail, and they brawl in the crowd.
- Steiner bodyslams Sid on the floor.
- They brawl further toward the back, and Sid locks on a chinlock.
- Sid yells "I didn't want it to come to this"
- They go up to the stage at the top of the ramp.
- Sid hits a low blow, and powerbombs Rick through the stage!
- Sid walks to the back.
Rick Steiner is getting fitted with a neck brace as we come back.
- And we stay with the scene for a very......long..........time.
- Sid rambles in an interview with Mike Tenay.
Match 8: "Block" Match: Jerry Flynn vs. Barbarian
- Jerry Flynn and Barbarian are down in the boiler room
- Looks like we're going to have a Boiler Room Match.
- Generic brawling, if you can believe it.
- Tony says "It's all about ratings, it's all about getting fans to watch Nitro." Unfortunately, he says it during THIS match.
- Flynn with a series of kicks against the wall, and Barbarian's out cold.
Mike Tenay talks to Chris Benoit
- Benoit says that not even Scott Hall will stand in his way for the World title belt.
Match 9: Asya vs. Kimberly Page (Special Referee - Torrie Wilson)
- Asya makes her way out first.
- Asya flexes.
- Kim makes her way out tentatively.
- "Stripper" music brings out the referee, Torrie Wilson in a referee bikini.
- Asya pulls Torrie around by her bikini.
- Torrie with a weak slap on Asya.
- Asya beats on Torrie, and they roll around on the floor.
- Kidman and the animals come out to cover up Torrie.
- Kimberly sneaks up behind Asya and slaps on a sleeper.
- Asya flips her over.
- Kim chokes Asya with part of her outfit.
- Torgo comes down with his crowbar and a referee shirt.
- Kimberly hits the road.
- Asya kicks Torgo in the gut, and drops him with a side suplex.
- Asya drops an elbow to Torgo's masters.
- Asya chokes him.
- Asya goes to hit Flair with the crowbar, but Torgo kicks her off.
- Torgo vertical-suplexes Asya, almost on top of the crowbar.
- Shane Douglas comes in, and Torgo whacks Shane in the arm with the crowbar.
- Torgo hits the road as the Revolution hits the ring.
In the back, someone delivers flowers from Sting
- The flowers are from the TP.
- Sting: "I always knew he had a feminine side - tell him I'll knock his teeth in."
- TP wants Liz to come up with another plan.
Goldberg's at the water cooler!!!!
Torgo chases Kim into the parking lot, saying "It's not going to be that easy six days from now, sweetheart."
Match 10: World Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Scott Hall (w/Kevin Nash) vs. Chris Benoit (w/Bret Hart)
- Hall and Nash come out first.
- Benoit makes his way out.
- Benoit pauses in the aisle, looking toward the ring.
- Bret Hart's music comes on, and Hart makes his way out beside Benoit!
- The Outsiders aren't happy.
- Hall, of course, tosses the toothpick.
- Benoit tosses a snot rocket.
- Hall with the shoulderblock armbar.
- Benoit escapes with an armdrag.
- Hall applies the hammerlock, and paintbrushes Benoit's head.
- Benoit escapes with an elbow to the face.
- Hall wants a test of strength.
- Benoit gets a shot when he tries to accept.
- Benoit with a drop-toehold, and he then dropkicks Hall in the head.
- Hall falls to the floor to regroup.
- Nash teases interfering in the match.
- Benoit unloads with chops in the corner on Hall.
- Back-elbow from Benoit.
- Benoit slams Hall, but misses a quick elbow.
- Snap-suplex from Benoit! Only gets two.
- Benoit gets whipped into Nash, and Hall hits a lariat.
- Hall only gets two.
- Avalanche clothesline from Hall.
- Nash gets some shots in on Benoit on the outside.
- Hall continues the punishment on Benoit, and hits the fallaway slam for two.
- Hall locks on a sleeper.
- Benoit escapes with a backdrop suplex.
- Hall covers for two.
- Benoit blocks punches, and hits some punches and kicks of his own.
- Double-arm clothesline from Benoit for two.
- Pendulum backbreaker by the Crippler.
- Benoit dropkicks Hall to the floor, and hits a baseball slide dropkick on Hall.
- Benoit slides outside, but Nash starts beating on him.
- Nash tries to Snake Eyes Benoit into the corner post, but Hart grabs Benoit's leg, allowing Nash to get posted instead.
- Nash, Benoit, and Hart brawl as Hall slides into the ring.
- Sid's in the ring, and he powerbombs Hall!
- Benoit climbs up top, and hits the diving headbutt!
- Benoit pulls up on the pin to knock Nash off the apron.
- Hall is up, and pulls some knucks out of his trunks. Shit.
- Hall goes to hit Benoit, but Benoit grabs the arm and slaps on the Crossface!!
- Hall taps! Hall taps!!!
- Benoit advances to the semifinals in Toronto!
Match 11: World Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Billy Kidman (w/Torrie Wilson and the Filthy Animals) vs. Bret Hart
- Kidman and Los Animales make their way out.
- Bret Hart comes out solo.
- Rey-Rey is in the announce booth.
- Hart gets the early advantage.
- Hart flips Kidman with a clothesline.
- Pendulum Backbreaker from Hart.
- Kidman comes back with a sunset flip, but Hart rolls through and tries the Sharpshooter.
- Hart catapults Kidman over the top.
- Kidman slowly comes back into the ring.
- Kidman reverses a corner charge and hits the rope-bounce clothesline.
- Kidman with the tornado bulldog.
- The Outsiders make their way down.
- The Outsiders molest Torrie.
- Eddy and Konnan try to save Torrie from the Outsiders.
- Kidman tries a Frankensteiner, but Hart blocks it into the Sharpshooter for the submission win.
- Hart slides out of the ring as the Outsiders hit.
During the break, the Outsiders beat up the Animals
- Rey-Rey apparently suffered an injury.
TP and Liz are in the kitchen
- They're looking for brownies. The LunchLady has some brownies.
Tenay talks to Jeff Jarrett
- Jarrett calls Tenay "Slappy", and talks about being the chosen one.
- They bleep "Slapnuts."
Match 12: World Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Buff Bagwell vs. Jeff Jarrett
- Buff makes his way out first.
- Jarrett makes the second entrance with his guitar.
- Jarrett and Buff brawl on the floor.
- Sweet dropkick from Bagwell.
- Buff with an inverted atomic drop, and a running clothesline.
- Creative Control makes their way down.
- Jarrett uses the distraction to attack.
- Bagwell with a powerslam.
- Swinging neckbreaker from Buff, who signals for the Blockbuster.
- Ref Mark Johnson is tying his shoes.
- One CC member deals with Bagwell while the other one slides the guitar in.
- Buff takes out the CC member, and grabs the guitar from Jarrett.
- Buff goes to hit Jarrett with the guitar, but Jarrett moves, and the other CC member takes the shot.
- Jarrett hits The Stroke on Bagwell for the pin and hugs the referee after the match.
- Jarrett and CC stomp a mudhole in Bagwell.
- Dustin Rhodes runs out of the crowd, takes Jarrett out with one punch, hits a Bossman slam on one CC member, and takes the other one out, too.
- Bagwell and Dustin celebrate in the ring.
Goldberg's getting a Surge.
TP is putting Ex-Lax in the brownies
- Because, as wrestling fans around the world know, "Poopin' ain't easy."
Earlier tonight, the Revolution talks about the "House of Pain" match
- It'll be Filthy Animals vs. Revolution
- Saturn talks about Everlast and "House of Pain." He says he was in the "Jump Around" video (which he was).
- Saturn wants Malenko to "Jump" with him.
- The Revolution just stares at Saturn.
Janitor Jim intercepts the delivery man, and takes Sting's brownies.
Match 13: House of Pain Match: Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko (w/Shane Douglas and Asya) vs. Eddy Guerrero and Konnan
- The rules to the match: To win, you must shackle the arms and legs of both opponents to the cage.
- The Revolution comes out first.
- Representing the Animals - Eddy Guerrero and Gonnad.
- Saturn superkicks Gonnad out of the cage.
- Tony: "You're just like every other mark on the Internet who thinks they can announce this thing."
- Midnight-Express-ish guillotine kneedrop from the Revolution.
- They battering-ram Eddy into the cage.
- They get Eddy's left arm shackled.
- Eddy's ³/₄ shackled as Gonnad comes back.
- Gonnad with a double rolling clothesline.
- Spike piledriver from the Revolution.
- Eddy's completely shackled.
- Douglas and Asya enter the ring.
- Gonnad's shackled too.
- Rey-Rey's in the cage.
- Asya blocks a bronco buster with a clothesline.
- The Revolution hangs Rey by his right leg from the top of the cage.
- Malenko and Saturn tear the hell out of Rey's leg.
- Security herds the Revolution out of the ring.
Match 14: World Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Total Package (w/Elizabeth) vs. Sting
- TP makes his way out, grinning like the Cheshire cat..
- Sting's music hits.
- Sting makes his way out, and TP can't believe it.
- TP hides in the ropes. He says his knee is hurt.
- Sting checks the knee, and Sting kicks it out from under him.
- Sting opens up on TP.
- Sting works the knee.
- Sting with an inverted atomic drop, and a running clothesline.
- Sting continues to work the leg on the outside.
- Back in the ring, TP begs off.
- Sting no-sells an inverted atomic drop, hits a lariat, and covers for two.
- TP rakes Sting's face over the top rope, allowing a TP comeback.
- Sting starts his own comeback, as TP tries to cuddle with the ref.
- Stinger Splash. And a second one.
- Sting turns TP over in the Scorpion Deathlock.
- TP sweeps the ref's leg.
- Liz maces Sting again.
- TP racks Sting, but the ref is still down.
- Meng runs down and applies the Tongan Death Grip to TP.
- Liz tries to mace Meng, but either she misses, or it doesn't faze him.
- Meng intimidates Liz out of the ring, and pulls Sting on top of TP.
- The ref counts three, and Sting advances!
Jim Duggan has some intestinal discomfort in the back, complete with sound effects.
Match 15: Street Fight: Sid Vicious vs. Kevin Nash
- Sid makes his way out first.
- Nash comes out solo.
- They start to brawl in the aisle.
- It goes into the crowd, with Nash taking the advantage.
- Nash hits a nutshot.
- Nash works Sid over in the corner with the framed elbows.
- Avalanche clothesline from Nash.
- Nash clotheslines Sid over the top rope.
- Aldo: This is like watching two turtles battle for king of a six-inch hill.
- They brawl on the announce table.
- Sid returns the nutshot favor.
- Sid slams Nash.
- Sid drops a leg, but only gets two. Sid's not orange enough to get a pin with a legdrop.
- Sid drops a leg to the jewels.
- Nash goes hard into the turnbuckles.
- The crowd starts chanting for Goldberg.
- Big boot from Sid.
- Sid signals for the Powerbomb.
- Hall runs down and breaks up the powerbomb.
- Hall and Nash beat on Sid and, since it's a No-DQ Streetfight, anything goes.
- Goldberg hits the ring, and delivers a double-spear to Hall and Nash.
- The ref calls for the bell.
- Sid and Goldberg brawl, and Goldberg hits an over-the-shoulder powerslam on Sid.
- Sid no-sells and hits a low blow on Goldberg.
- Sid gets a chair.
- Hart hits the ring, and sends Sid out of the ring.
- With that, we fade to black....
