- David Penzer started it off with his speech about not throwing things
into the ring, etc. I was out getting a beer during this so I'm not
sure if he got pelted at this time but when I got back there was a
little trash in the ring so I'm assuming it got there shortly after this
announcement. Also, when I was out I heard a huge chant of "Bullshit"
start up and when I got back my friends told me that Goldberg (who was
supposed to wrestle Saturn) wouldn't be there because of a family
emergency. In addition they said Scott Steiner had some kind of injury
so he wouldn't be there so the Rick Steiner/Lex Luger vs. Scott Steiner
and whoever was going to wrestle for Buff match was off. However, they
did say Scott Hall would indeed be there to wrestle Sting so that got a
pretty good pop.
- Bobby Eaton beat Brad Armstrong with that "oh so
dreaded" finishing move, the spinning neckbreaker. The crowd started
chanting "Boring" about 30 seconds in and I kind of felt bad for the
guys. Then
of course the "Goldberg" chant went up several times during the match as
well. Bobby had absolutely no offense until he hit the
neckbreaker and I couldn't believe he pinned him after that.
- The best match of the night action wise was obviously the lucha
libre match between Juvi & Silver King vs. The Chairman of WCW La Parka &
Psychosis. La Parka was AWESOME during this
match. He came out with the chair and played a little guitar on it and
of course did the strut to start things off. He was even really into it
on the apron during the match and was mocking the crowd with some
dancing. He did the strut along the apron after kicking Juvi while he
was coming off the ropes and even showed off some new dances after
hitting a couple of moves. Juvi always got huge pops whenever he came
into the ring and ended up winning with I think the Juvi Driver on
Psychosis. I was hoping to see the 450. Anyway, afterward, La Parka was
shaking Psychosis' hand and patting him on the back but as soon as Psychosis
turned around he got the chair shot which got a pretty good pop.
- Some really cool music came on and I wasn't sure who was coming
out, it sounded like a Mexican rap song or something but anyway it was
pretty sweet and out came Konnan. He got a pretty good pop. Then out
came Marty Jannetty and he, well, got no pop. Konnan really worked the
crowd well and at one point in the match he just stopped and grabbed the
mic and gave a "Yo quiero Taco Bell!" which got a huge pop. It was
pretty funny. Anyway he went on to win with whatever his finisher is
called, he's been jobbing so much as of late and it's been so long since
he could actually use it I've forgotten.
- I'm not sure if it was the wrestling or if I was just in a
redneck mode because of the high frequency of 'necks in the building but
I'd get a beer and it would seem like I hardly took a drink and it'd be
gone. But anyway, at this point I was feeling pretty good.
- Jericho and Disco Inferno were up next and I must say that Jericho sure
knows how to draw some heat. He got on the mic and said something like,
"You know.. (he then asked Penzer what city he was in and Penzer said
Omaha)...you know Oklahoma is one of my favorites cities. And I know all
you people in the city of Oklahoma came out to see me tonight and I
won't let you people down like those darn Cornhuskers do." It was
pretty funny. This obviously drew some major heat. He went on to win
with the Liontamer.
- Next up was Lex against Scott Norton. I called this one before
it began. I said Luger will get his butt kicked all match, then hit two
clotheslines and put him in the rack. Well, Luger had no offense the
entire match, then he hit two clotheslines (not one, not three, exactly
two) and put Norton in the rack for the win.
- The last match of the night was Scott Hall against Sting.
Although I'm not a big nWo fan when you hear that porno music start you
just have to give him a pop. Hall and K-dawg came to the ring and Hall
did his fist pumps (Man, I've missed that) and took the survey. WCW
actually got booed and the crowd was very loud with the N-W-O at the
end. Sting came out to a huge pop and then got on the mic and said he
was going to give Scott Hall a Big Red asskicking. The crowd went wild.
He then said that he has a confession to make and said he was actually
born in Omaha. The crowd went freakin' nuts. (I'm not sure if this is
true or not. I'd assume he's been born about everywhere they do a show
but it could be true because of the Air Force base often a lot of people
are born here but only live here for about 6 months.) He also gave one
more Big Red something or other and there's no better way to get a huge
pop in Nebraska than to say something about the Cornhuskers. Stinger
won when Konnan tried to interfere after a Stinger Splash and he got the
reverse DDT and then Hall got the reverse DDT. After Hall "regained
consiousness" he got on the mic and said there's a party going on
afterward over at Ameristar (a hotel casino) and everyone should come
over. He then said that "All you fat chicks can go see Luger over at the
Marriott". Ha!!
- Highlights: No Hogan and Bischoff. Hall being back. Konnan
saying "Yo quiero Taco Bell!" right in the middle of the match. Jericho's
speech. Stinger's speech. Hall saying something about Luger and fat
chicks at the Marriott.
- Lowlights: Sorry but I would have marked out over Goldberg.
The first match was pathetic.
- Anyway, it was a pretty good show.
