WCWSN Taping Results from Terre Haute, IN, Tuesday, August 25th, 1998
From Andy hailing from Evanston, IL
Note from Bill: Rather than do a spoiler, I held off posting these until all the shows had been broadcast.
- I know you usually don't post these ahead of the air date, so I won't be offended or anything like that if these aren't displayed right away. Since it is late, I'll just give you the major highlights and leave it up to the TV reporter to give the blow-by-blow discussion of each match.
Show #1
- Match #1: Alex Wright/Disco Inferno over Disorderly Conduct
- Chris Jericho then came out and bragged about how there was no one that could beat the greatest TV champ ever. Stevie Ray, now wearing black & white, came out to disagree with Jericho, setting up a match later in the evening.
- Match #2: Kaz Hayashi over Rick Dismore (I think that was his name - couldn't really hear Penzer)
- Sonny Onoo came out and scouted Kaz, then walked back with him to the locker room.
- Match #3: High Voltage over The Armstrong Brothers
- Match #4: Wrath over Tim (Trevor?) Blanchard
- Match #5: Jerry Flynn over Meng via DQ
- Meng won the match, but when he would not relinquish the Tongan death grip, ref Charles Robinson disqualified him, giving Flynn the match.
- Next, Evan Kourageous came out for a "match" but Meng put the deathgrip on him, then Scott Norton and Vincent come out, and Meng and Norton fight all the way back to the lockeroom.
- Match #6: Konnan over Mike Enos
- Match #7: Brian Adams over Rick Fuller
- Match #8: Chris Jericho over Stevie Ray by DQ when the Giant interferes.
- Giant chokeslammed Jericho after giving SR a grin, then the two shook hands and walked out of the ring together.
Show #2
- Match #1: Lodi over Brad Armstrong
- Saturn came out with Lodi, held signs for him throughout the match, held the ropes for him, and helped get Lodi the win with the DVD on BA when the ref turned away. (Note that this was taped before the match which made Saturn Lodi's slave.)
- Match #2: Ernest Miller over some bald jobber
- After winning, Miller got on the mic and told WCW how many guys he had beaten and would he start getting some respect.
- Match #3: Scott Putski over Tough Tom
- Putski actually pinned Mean Mike when Disorderly Conduct switched places a la los dos Villanos.
- Curt Hennig then came out and challenged DDP as a preview to War Games
- Match #4: Scott Norton over Bobby Eaton
- Norton then challenged Meng to a match at the PPV
- Match #5: Kanyon over Barry Horowitz
- Kanyon was accompanied to the ring with RAVEN! (Again, this was taped before this angle developed on live TV.)
- Match #6: Juventud Guererra over Evan Kourageous
- Match #7: Raven (w/ Kanyon) over the Renegade
- Kanyon raised Raven's hand after the match.
- Match #8: Giant over Van Hammer
- Match #9: DDP over Curt Hennig by DQ when Hennig clobbers DDP with a chair on the
ring apron.
- After rolling DDP into the ring, Hennig goes for another chair shot when Dean Malenko makes the save for DDP.
