WWF House Show Results from Miami, FL, Friday, August 8th
Claudia (the lady who was on the Wrestle Vessel), a realtor from Aventura, FL, offered to send me the results from a WWF House Show in Miami on August 8th. I figured that it might be a fun one-time-only thing to see what the "other guys" are doing. Here goes:
- Before the matches started, Bret Hart came out and told the audience that his match with the Undertaker that night will not be for the title as he does not feel like wrestling...Bret got so many boos, you can hardly hear him speak....WWF officials came out to ringside and told him the match will be for the title.....
- Rockabilly vs. Flash Funk: Rockabilly won with his DDT Top Rope move. Nothing special.
- NOD (Kama/D-Lo Brown) vs. DOA (Chains/Crush): Lots of action, Los Bariquas came out to watch, NOD & DOA ended up fighting them on the outside all the way back to the Locker Room, double countout.
- Rocky Maivia vs. Farooq: This was billed as University of Miami vs. Florida State. The fans loved it, being in Miami with Maivia being the clear cut favorite. At the beginning of the match Farooq tried to get Mavia to join the NOD and it looked like he would, stood with them all in the middle of the ring, then Mavia clotheslined everybody....all the NOD. Match started..The NOD attacked Mavia and Farooq got the pin with D-LO Brown holding Mavia's leg on the outside...However, a second referee came to ringside to tell the other referee what happened, the match was restarted, and while Farooq was arguing with the referee, Maivia rolled him up from behind for the pin. Maivia def. Farooq, pinfall.
- Bulldog vs. Golddust in a European Title Match: Lots of action, Bulldog went into the audience to get a Canadian Flag and waved it around, Golddust went into the audience and got a huge pop when he got an American Flag. (No Marlena) Lots of action, Bulldog won with the same roll up move he used to pin Bret Hart for the I-C Title a few years ago.
- Hunter Hearst Helmsley w/Chyna vs. Mankind: (no D.Q., falls count anywhere in the building) This was a wild match...hardly stayed in the ring. HHH & Mankind fought back to the dressing room and back to the ring, up and down the aisles, chairs and garbage cans...Chyna constantly intefered...At the end, Mankind rammed HHH head into the side ringpost and knocked him senseless, Chyna attempted to jump on Mankind from the ring to the floor, Mankind caught Chyna with his Mandible Claw, Chyna submitted, Mankind wins!!!!!!! The crowd loved it! HHH and Mankind did a good job. After Mankind won, Dude Love's Music started to play and he took off his mask and started to dance like Dude Love....
- Owen Hart/Brian Pillman vs. Los Bariquas (Savio Vega/Miguel Perez): Lots of action, the usual stuff, DOA came down to ringside, NOD came to ringside and all hell broke loose, while all the fighting was going on on the outside, Savio Vega hits Brian Pillman with a side leg kick to the head for a clean pin. Los Bariquas wins with a clean pin on Brian Pillman...
- Vader (w/Paul Bearer) vs. Ken Shamrock: Action plus...Shamrock did get the pulp beaten out of him, got a second wind, started acting like a nut case and put Vader in an ankle submission hold; Shamrock wins cleanly by submission.
- Bret Hart vs. Undertaker (World Title Match): Bret Hart got booed so loudly, you could hardly hear the announcer....people threw soda, ice, and God knows what else into the ring, I thought I was at an ECW event! The Undertaker got such a welcome I thought I would go deaf....Good heat, lots of action, Bret got the tar beaten out of him the entire match, Undertaker got the choke slam on Bret, then put him in the Tombstone Piledriver when Owen Hart, Bulldog, and Brian Pillman came running down to the ring to save Bret, Undertaker wins by D.Q.
- Steve Austin was a no show due to injury. The World Title match was supposed to be a three-way match for the title between Austin, Hart, and the Undertaker
- Golddust took Psycho Sid's place vs. Bulldog
- The crowd really got into it, hardly sitting the entire night, must have been about 6,000-7,000 people in the arena. It looked really crowded.
