- Barring any last-minute disasters, this'll be my first report of September. Labor Day, I went back up to Virginia to celebrate my birthday (the big 2-4, baby!). Then, last week, I came home, got ready to write, turned on the TV, and found out I had no cable. D'Oh!
- Speaking of disasters, the DDT Digest North Carolina Branch Office outside Raleigh didn't sustain any damage during Hurricane Floyd. We lost power for about 8 hours, got a little rain, but nothing like the eastern part of the state got.
- We look back at F***ing Sid from last week. I don't know how painful it's going to be to watch this crap for another four months.
- We watch Flair get racked and deathlocked, with the Orange Menace making the save.
- A look back at Sting Through The Ages.
- And we're live from Cincinnati, OH!
- Fall Brawl will feature Hogan vs. Sting II.
- People behind Dinky and the Brain are holding WCW Mayhem boxes.
- Sting will defend the title against Benoit tonight.
- Match 1: Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis vs. Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio Jr.
- Our first F***ing Sid run-in match of the evening.
- Juvi and Psy come out to Juvi's music.
- Their opponents: Kidman and Rey-Rey.
- Mayhem will be released in three days.
- Kidman opens up on Psy to start.
- Headscissors and dropkick from Kidman.
- Juvi distraction lets Psy hit a split-legged gourdbuster.
- Juvi flies off the top with headscissors.
- The heels get a doubleteam on Kidman.
- Juvi flips out of a German suplex, and Kidman makes a blind tag.
- Juvi goes up on Kidman's shoulders, and Rey hits a cannonball splash.
- Rey with a Lionsault.
- Juvi with a spinning suplex on Rey.
- INSANE doubleteam guillotine legdrop from the heels. Kidman makes the save.
- Rey comes back on Juvi, and flips out of a Psy backdrop suplex.
- Rey makes the tag, and Kidman comes off the top with a cross-body on both heels.
- They take care of Juvi on the outside.
- Psychosis tries to powerbomb Kidman. You write the rest.
- Juvi catches Kidman up top.
- Juvi pushes Kidman off, and Psychosis dropkicks Kidman in the gut on the way down.
- Psychosis covers, and GETS THE PIN!!! WOW!!

- Eddy and Konnan come down to beat on the victors.
- Kidman tries to unmask Psychosis. Chavo Jr. comes in to make the save on Psychosis!
- Eddy tries to make peace, but Chavo will have none of it.
- Psychosis rants in Spanish.
- Chavo says that Psychosis is offering a challenge for a Mask vs. Hair match against Kidman.
- Psychosis doesn't seem to like this deal.
- The match is made for next Monday in Atlanta.
- Kidman wants the match now, the heels head for the back.
- Aldo: WCW Bookers Pay Attention: Notice the heat that these two groups give off. Notice the lack of heat Sid and Hogan get. Do the math.

- Match 2: Brian Knobbs (w/Jimmy Hart) vs. Bill Goldberg
- Representing jelly doughnuts everywhere, Brian Knobbs.
- Hart gets on the mic.
- Knobbs has new music. Again.
- Hart rants about Goldberg taking out Jerry Flynn.
- Hart says that Goldberg is next.
- Knobbs rants for a while.
- Goldberg's old music hits. No more Megadeth!!!
- He gets the security treatment again.
- Goldberg goes to far forward, and has to back up to stand in the pyro. Oops!
- Goldberg grabs Hart by the jacket, then turns his attention to Knobbs.
- Knobbs gets dumped to the floor, and grabs a chair.
- Knobbs with five chairshots.
- Knobbs whips Goldberg into the guardrail.
- Knobbs tries to post Goldberg, but ends up eating the steel himself.
- Knobbs is then introduced to the ring steps.
- Goldberg with a big boot.
- Hart tries to interfere with the megaphone. Goldberg presses him, but it allows Knobbs to hit several megaphone shots.
- Knobbs gets ready to give Goldberg a trip to Pitty City.
- While he's posing, though, Goldberg gets up and delivers the spear.
- Jackhammer. Splat. Win.
- The camera seems to focus on a Steve Austin mask in the crowd.
- Goldberg gets on the mic.
- Goldberg talks about Sid running away last week, like a little girl.
- Goldberg: "You've amassed quite a record. But guess what - so have I."
- Goldberg: "Since you've got that belt, I want it. And since I've gotta go through you, I'm gonna get it."
- Goldberg: "You've been a great intimidator....but intimidation is my game."
- Goldberg gives Sid five weeks, because at Halloween Havoc, it's Goldberg vs.
Sid.

- Flair says we've got a ballgame now.

- Match 3: WCW World Television Champion Chris Benoit vs. WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting (Only Sting's title is on the line)
- So we're putting the World Title match in the first hour to oppose RAW?
- Benoit comes down first.
- Tony actually acknowledges a mixture of cheers and boos.
- Tony got a note for next week's show: Hogan, Flair, and Hart will team together in a six-man match against DDP/Luger/Sting.
- Sting has his name on the World Title belt-plate.
- Sting breaks cleanly in the corner.
- Sting clamps down with a headlock. Sting ducks an enzuigiri.
- Sting with a flying clothesline that sends Benoit to the floor.
- Benoit comes back in, and Sting lands another clothesline.
- Benoit brings Sting over with a type of backdrop, but Sting no-sells and lands a dropkick.
- Benoit with an armdrag, and a dropkick to the knee.
- Benoit starts to work the knee.
- Benoit applies a bridging Indian deathlock.
- Benoit breaks the bridge, and slams Sting's knee into the mat.
- Benoit ties Sting to the Tree of Woe, runs from the other corner, and dropkicks Sting in the face.
- Sting avoids a second one.
- Sting crotches Benoit around the ringpost.
- Sting with an inverted atomic drop.
- Regular atomic drop by Sting.

- Benoit fights out of another chinlock, but Sting holds on to avoid a dropkick.
- Sting slowly covers, but only gets two.

- Benoit is down and out as Sting goes up top.
- Benoit gets his knees up on a top-rope splash.
- Benoit avoids a Stinger splash, and Benoit clotheslines him down.
- The thumb goes across the throat.

- Sting kicks out at two.
- Both men are down.
- Benoit is up first, and hits two snap-suplexes, then locks on the Crossface!
- Sting is in the ropes, though.
- Benoit with a full nelson, Sting escapes, and Benoit gets a sleeper.
- Sting shoves Benoit into the ref, who's out.
- Benoit with an interesting type of piledriver, but the ref's out.
- Some near-falls with the ref out, and Benoit hits a bridging German suplex.
- Lex Luger runs in and hits Benoit with the baseball bat.
- The ref recovers to count the pin. Sting wins.
- Ric Flair runs down and starts beating on Luger.
- DDP runs in and delivers a Diamond Cutter to Flair.
- The heels beat on Flair until Hogan gimps down to the ring.
- Hogan rants at Sting as the crowd goes apathetic.
- Excellent match from Benoit and Sting!!!
- Berlyn promo.
- Match 4: Scott Armstrong vs. Berlyn (w/bodyguard)
- Scott Armstrong makes a rare appearance on Nitro.
- His opponnent - Berlyn.
- WCW is working on signing DDP vs. Ric Flair for tonight.
- Berlyn with the early advantage.
- Scott with a brief comeback, but Berlyn lands a backbreaker.
- Backdrop suplex from Berlyn, who spits on Armstrong.
- Berlyn drops Scott gut-first over the top rope, and dropkicks him to the floor.
- The ref stops the bodyguard from braining Armstrong.
- Scott with a sunset flip for two.
- Barlyn comes back with a leg lariat.
- European uppercut.
- Berlyn locks on a type of surfboard.
- Armstrong avoids a charging Berlyn, who hotshots himself.
- Scott with a hiptoss and a chop.
- Armstrong with ten punches to the head, but Berlyn avoids a dropkick.
- Berlyn works the neck, and the bodyguard punches Armstrong in the head.
- Berlyn lands a reverse neckbreaker for the pin.
- Post-match, Berlyn locks on a chinlock to further punish Scott.
- Brad Armstrong rushes in for the save, and stares down the Europeans.
- From earlier in the night, we see Vampiro and Violent J talking to Shaggy 2 Dope about a Cruiserweight title shot. Vampiro's warning Shaggy 2 Dope "Don't worry if they grab you down below for a body slam and it feels funny" and "Don't let them get at your rear end".
- Gene calls out DDP
- DDP will face Flair in the main event tonight.
- DDP talks smack about Pete Rose.
- DDP talks smack to the crowd.
- DDP talks about Flair being the past, saying he needs to retire.
- Page says he's accomplished in five years what it took Flair a whole career to do.
- Decent promo by Page.

- Match 5: Blitzkrieg vs. Evan Karagias
- Yes! Blitz!
- His opponent - Evan Karagias.
- I smell F***ing Sid.
- The winner of this match gets a Cruiser title shot on Thunder.
- They trade armwringers.
- Evan turns a Blitz leapfrog into a powerslam.
- Press-slam from Evan.
- Blitz flips out of a backdrop and lands a spin kick.
- Evan lands a dropkick.
- Tony informs us that Lenny and Lodi are now known as the "West Hollywood Blondes."
- Evan with a springboard plancha to the outside.
- Evan goes up top, but Blitz pulls the ref in front of him.
- Evan hops down and gets a clothesline.
- Handspring back-elbow from Blitz.
- Blitz goes up top, but misses the Skytwister Press.
- Evan with a standing powerslam in the corner, but Blitz catches him up top.
- Evan kicks Blitz off and hits a top-rope cross-body for two.
- Blitz with a spin kick as the crowd stands up.
- Evan goes up top again as F***ing Sid comes down.
- Evan with a twisting splash off the top for the pin.
- Sid enters the ring.
- Evan hits the ropes, and Sid press-drops him.
- Sid chokeslams Evan.
- Blitz tries to come off the top with a frankensteiner, but Sid catches him and powerbombs him.
- Sid pins Blitz to continue the most insipid angle in sports entertainment today.
- Sid gets on the mic. I change the channel.

- Match 6: Saturn (w/Dean Malenko and Shane Douglas) vs. Eddy Guerrero (w/Konnan, Rey Mysterio Jr.)
- Douglas, Malenko, and Saturn make their way down to the ring.
- It'll be Saturn vs. Eddy in a rematch from last week.
- Saturn starts off strong.
- Eddy comes back with a frankensteiner and tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.
- The Revolution beats on Eddy on the outside, and throws him back in.
- Commercial.
- As we come back, Eddy fights out of a chinlock.
- Saturn tries to press-slam Eddy, but Eddy armdrags him.
- Eddy PLANTS Saturn with a springboard swinging DDT!!!
- Leg Lariat from Eddy.
- Eddy walks the top rope, and comes off with a frankensteiner.
- Saturn belly-to-bellies Eddy out of the corner.
- Saturn comes off the top with a big elbowdrop for two.
- Saturn signals for the DVD.
- Eddy escapes with a Victory Roll for two.
- Saturn clotheslines Eddy.
- Saturn puts Eddy up top, but Eddy frankensteiners him off the top.
- Eddy signals for the top rope.
- Eddy misses the Frog Splash.
- Eddy ducks, and Saturn goes flying over the top rope.
- Saturn and Malenko brawl with the Animals on the floor.
- Back in the ring, Shane Douglas hits Eddy in the back of the head with a chain.
- Saturn sees him do it, and he's not happy.
- Saturn stares at Shane, then finally makes the cover.
- Saturn gets the win.
- Saturn and Shane have words after the match.

- Match 7: Shaggy 2 Dope (w/Vampiro and Violent J) vs. WCW World Cruiserweight Champion Lenny Lane (w/Lodi)
- The ICP and Vampiro have signs like Lodi.
- The Blondes make their way out.
- Lodi signs: "Blowpops make the world go round", "Asheboro Power House", "ICP Wears Makeup 'Cause They're Ugly", "Lenny Luvs Ricky Martin"
- The Blondes Fan runs in again, and gets taken out by security again.
- Lenny jumps into the arms of the ref, who drops him.
- Shaggy dropkicks Lenny into Lodi.
- Shaggy with a type of over-the-shoulder powerslam.
- Shaggy goes up top, but Lenny catches him.
- Lenny avoids the guillotine legdrop.
- Lenny with a Doctor Bomb that very nearly drops Shaggy right on his head.
- Lenny bodyslams Shaggy, and crawls on top of him for a two-count.
- Shaggy gets out of a bodyslam and bulldogs Lenny.
- Shaggy with a NICE running Ligerbomb for two!
- Shaggy with a Victory Roll for two.
- Shaggy goes to the apron, but Lodi attacks.
- Shaggy flips out of a backdrop suplex and rolls Lenny up for two.
- Lenny shoves Shaggy into Lodi on the apron, then rolls him up for the win!
- The Mean Gene Show rolls on with Rick Steiner
- Steiner says that if you're not a Steiner, you don't have a chance.
- Steiner respects Sid Vicious and Scott Steiner.
- Rick calls out Scott.
- Scott walks down the aisle, larger than ever.
- Scott says it's none of Gene's business what he's been doing.
- Scott says he's been been chasing Wilt Chamberlain's record of sleeping with 20,000 women.
- Scott offers to sleep with any "freaks" in the crowd.
- He works in "Big Bad Booty Daddy."
- Scott says when he left, he was US champion and the leader of the nWo.
- Scott says Hogan makes him puke yellow and red.
- Scott challenges Hogan.
- Match 8: Kanyon vs. Booker T (w/Patron Saint of DDT Digest Stevie Ray)
- Kanyon shills some Surge on his way to the ring.
- His opponent: Booker T.
- Booker's music hits before Kanyon can ask the question.
- Some back-and-forth to start, but Booker lands a dropkick to gain the advantage.
- Kanyon rolls to the floor.
- Stevie intimidates Kanyon back into the ring.
- Booker with the flying forearm.
- Side kick from Booker.
- On the floor, Kanyon reverses a whip to send Booker to the rain.
- Kanyon spits water in Booker's face.
- Kanyon with a superplex from the apron into the ring.
- Kanyon with the middle-rope Rocker Dropper.
- Booker lands a Rock Bottom on Kanyon.
- Booker lands the Harlem Sidekick.
- Axe Kick and a breakdance.
- Booker goes up top, but Kanyon catches him.
- Booker holds on to avoid the superplex, and ends up with a top-rope gourdbuster.
- Booker semi-hits the Missile Dropkick for the pin.
- Match 9: Diamond Dallas Page vs. Ric Flair
- DDP comes out first.
- Flair jumps him in the aisle.
- They brawl through the crowd.
- Flair tears at the face.
- Flair continues to beat on Page in the aisle.
- They finally enter the ring. Flair struts around.
- DDP comes out of the corner, gets whipped into the ropes, and comes off with a swinging neckbreaker.
- Page drops an elbow to the sack.
- DDP works over Flair in the corner.
- Charles Robinson is the ref, a fact that is completely overlooked by the announcers.
- DDP backdrops Flair.
- DDP drops an elbow.
- Page with a chinlock.
- DDP punches Flair down in the corner.
- They trade chops and punches.
- Flair floors him with a chop.
- Backdrop suplex from Flair.
- More chops, and a low blow.
- Flair locks on the Figure Four.
- Sting hits the ring, but Flair avoids an elbowdrop.
- Flair puts the figure-four on Sting.
- Luger runs in and hits Flair in the ribs with the baseball bat.
- Hogan comes in to clear everyone out.
- Sting whacks Hogan in the knee with the bat.
- Go Sting Go! Go Sting Go!
- Flair protects Hogan as the heels leave the ring.
- With that, we fade to black.....
- All in all, a very good show by WCW this week!
